Welcome to the Art With Heart Team, Colour Creations Blog Hop, for 2021-2022. Each week members of the team will showcase a current colour (in alphabetical order) from the extensive Stampin’ Up! range.
Week 2: Balmy Blue
You will find a number of products in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue that feature Balmy Blue including – Classic Stampin’ Pad, cardstock, Stampin’ Blends, ink refill, Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Watercolor Pencil Assortment 2 and Subtles Stampin’ Write Markers.
But my favourite Balmy Blue products are……
I particularly like the B-sides of this designer series paper. The one featuring the soft organic Balmy Blue stripes is very sweet.
My card:
My card features a new, for me, stamp set and coordinating dies. I have no idea why it took me so long to purchase this lovely set and was very happy to see it carried over into the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. I am particularly fond of the sentiments.
After die cutting a circle from a panel of basic white cardstock, I used the piece as a stencil to show me exactly where I needed to create my beach background, on an additional panel of basic white cardstock. I did this using Balmy Blue, Sahara Sand, Mango Melody and my favourite tool at the moment……blending brushes.
The initial panel was then embossed using the new Macrame embossing folder (LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!), before being adhered to the blended panel using a very large number of dimensionals. š It is actually no wonder I run out ALL the time!!!
I then added the palm trees, frangipani, sentiment, sequins and gem. This completed panel was matted with Balmy Blue and then added to a Crumb Cake card base.

You’ve created a lovely tropical scene. Somewhere we all wish we were right now and not stuck in winter weather!
Your card is amazing Michele! The Timeless Tropical set is great to work with and beautiful blending to set the tropical feeling. I think we need here in Melbourne.

Just lovely, Michele. (Sigh), I literally did that when I first saw your card. I get such a warm relaxed feel when I look at it. I love those little pops of blue from the sequins over the white embossed panel, just so striking!

Michele, I really like all the texture and layering you have in your card with the inset sky behind the trees that are layered over the macrame embossing folder. That looks great on this card the embossing folder that is just perfect! Fantastic card!
Love the palms and placement in front of the circle cutout and the Balmy Blue background. That Macrame embossing folder is next on my list…love the texture there.
Oh, I wish I was wherever your gorgeous card is depicting right now! brr, it’s so cold in Adelaide! The palm trees look fantastic, and I love the scene you’ve created behind them.
This is a beautiful card, with lots of interest & makes me dream of a holiday in Hawaii, Michele. The texture of the embossing folder is gorgeous, I just went over to add one to my order.
You’ve created a beautiful card, Michele. Isn’t the Macrame 3D embossing folder just swoon-worthy? It embosses white card so beautifully – a gorgeous frame for those pretty, subtle colours on your card.
I love this card. It makes me forget how cold and windy it is outside at the moment. Timeless Tropical is definitely on my list xox
Michele you’ve done a beautiful job with the blending brushes – I did have a little giggle about your dimensional use as I share the same problem. Love this macrame folder – after seeing your card tonight I’ll be popping it on my next order for sure!
