AWHT Colour Creations Showcase – Pear Pizzazz

Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.

Week 33: Pear Pizzazz

Pear Pizzazz is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Subtles collection…….and is a soft medium green that is a little on the lime side. There are several Pear Pizzazz products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Subtles Assortment.

Pear Pizzazz is featured in the gorgeous Forever Greenery designer series papers. As a lover of all shades green I adore this stunning paper and used a piece of it on my card for today’s showcase.

my card:

I’m enjoying using the lovely Enjoy the Moment stamp set and created this card using the stamp and rotate method.

I am particularly drawn to the line art drawings in this set. The liquid amber fruit stamp evokes so many memories of childhood days in Wangaratta. The back garden of my grandparents’ home had a row of large liquid ambers and it was in their shade that we would seek refuge in the afternoon and evenings from the heat of the day. As kids we would drape the fruit over our ears and pretend they were earrings and there were always a few strong words yelled when someone accidentally stood on one in the dark. 🙂

Your card is lovely and I love the childhood memories that are associated with the stamp images.

  2. Diane Furniss

This is a WOW card Michele, your have really made such a stunning card. I love it.

  3. Caroline Manwaring

I love when our beautiful memories can be the inspiration behind our creations Michele. A lovely card and a lovely story of your childhood days spent in your grandparents back yard. I can just imagine the colourful language when someone stood on one of those fruit pods, probably similar to when one steps on Lego! lol.

  4. Sharon Davern

Oh I love your card it is gorgeous. I bet there were a few strong words in the dark at night standing barefoot on discarded earring fruit 😁 A beautiful use of this stamp set and I love the sentiment.

  5. Claire Daly

  6. Kate Morgan

Very pretty card Michele! We have a gigantic liquid amber tree if you ever need me to send you some of the bommy knockers so you can relive your childhood LOL

    1. Michele

Oh that bought back even more memories Kathryn as we too would call them bommy knockers. How funny!!!

  8. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Ooh, I’ve been playing with this stamp set for the first time today! I love what you’ve created, Michele. Pear Pizzazz is a beautiful colour to use with these stamps. I love the back story. and the education as to what these “pods” are!

  9. Tina Gillespie

Your card is wonderful! Pear Pizzazz works beautifully with the images. If those are what I think they are, you were a much nicer child than me – my sisters and I used to throw them at each other!

    1. Michele

Oh, I just left that bit out Tina. My cousin Neil and I would use them as weapons on many an occasion.

  10. Catherine Proctor

Oh my goodness Michelle – you surprise and astound me every week! That is such a creative use of that stamp set and I love how you have picked up the colours in the DSP with your stamping. Thank you for joining the AWHT CCS this week xx
