Butterfly Gala Love!!!

A new year, a new catalogue and lots of new goodies. What more could a crafter want or need? The new Occasions Catalogue is not only full of lovely new product but each page showcases lovely projects that will inspire you to get creative. Add to that the fact that it is Sale-A-Bration time and there is almost too much from which to choose. My presale order consisted of just a few items, one of which was the Butterfly Gala Bundle. Of course I had to choose the matching ribbon (Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack #149623, page 7) and designer series paper (Botanical Butterfly #149622, page 9) from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I really do think that these will both be very, very popular choices. And like all Stampin’ Up! products it all just works so well together. I also ordered the Gingham Gala 6×6 DSP, Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins, Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies and I used a range of these to make these cards.

Card 1: I used a wreath design and then embellished it with small butterflies punched from one of the papers from the Botanical Butterfly designer series. I misted the butterflies with Shimmer Paint Champagne Mist and added some sequins as a finishing touch. The sentiment is from the Hello Cupcake stamp set which is also available to select FREE from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Remember that for every $90 you spend you can choose another FREE product.

Card 2: This card showcases the Gingham Gala DSP in a shade of Balmy Blue. I diecut the large heart using a die from the Be Mine framelits set before embossing it with the Lace folder. I popped a few dimensionals under the central heart to raise it up above the heart frame. I adhered the butterfly to the middle of the heart, catching some silver thread behind it. The sentiment is from an oldie but a goodie, Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I just love the sentiments in this set and find myself using it time and time again. It is a real must-have!!!

Card 3: Uses another piece of the Gingham Gala DSP, this time in Daffodil Delight. I inlaid the heart diecut which I cut out three times in total – the Whisper White card front, Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight. I added three butterflies punched from the DSP, three sequins and some Wink of Stellar to the butterflies to make them shine. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

Card 4: This card was quick and easy to make. I do love the mix of mauve/purple and the black and white. The sentiment also comes from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. The diecut is from the Stitched Labels Framelits set available in the Annual Catalogue……another must-have. The lovely Highland Heather organdy ribbon is another product available FREE from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. It is just lovely and so easy to tie.

Card 5: This card features another wreath design. The punched butterflies add some dimension and colour. I know the old adage of blue and green should never be seen but I actually love blue and green together, particularly Lemon Lime Twist and Balmy Blue. All the punched butterflies were sprayed with Shimmer Paint Glimmer Mist.

If you live in Australia I would love to be your demonstrator and if you would like any further information or better still would like to attend a class where you make several of these cards, please contact me for details.
