How fabulous is the font in this wonderful set of festive greetings? I am absolutely loving the size too and the fact that they fit so perfectly within the diecut frame. This unexpected and quite muted colour palette is lovely for Christmas too.
I wanted to showcase another of the fabulous greetings and felt that this one featuring the word ‘jolly’ might benefit from a more traditional colour palette.
Here are all four of my cards in closer detail……
Card no.1:
The sentiment panel on this card was adhered using dimensionals and the Solid Faceted Gems work perfectly back with this lovely DSP.
card no.2:
To mimic the berries in the DSP I stamped and diecut the berries from Christmas Season (page 44 of the Annual catalogue). I added Wink of Stella to them for some shine and also added three small clusters of silver Festive Pearls. Is an hour too long to fuss around tying and adhering a bow? Asking for a friend!!!
The greeting was heat embossed using white embossing powder. I have not dragged out my heat gun and embossing powders for years. Why not, you ask? Pure laziness!!! I had forgotten just how fabulous and satisfying heat embossing is.
card no.3:
So, as they say, when you are on a good thing……stick to it. While the heat gun was out, I also embossed the greeting for my next two cards as well. This card features DSP from the Boughs of Holly pack. I inked all the edges to create some depth and coloured in the Textural Elements (holly boughs) to match those in the paper.
Card no.4:
This very traditional card also features DSP from the Boughs of Holly pack and I again inked all the edges as I am not a fan of seeing white edges on darker papers. It also helps to tie all the papers together and adds some depth. To coordinate with the gold heat embossed greeting I added a few gold diecuts. For both cards 3 and 4 the frame was diecut multiple times and glued together to add dimension.
Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:
It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Tina Gillespie. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!
If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.
Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by this week. I hope to see you back here next Monday, when the team will have more of their inspiration and wonderful creations to share with you.
In the meantime if you would like a copy of either the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue and/or the July – December 2022 Mini Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.
Michele.

Your cards are all so beautiful, but I absolutely adore the first two in the blues and greens. Just gorgeous!
Your cards are fabulous Michele, I love the fact that you thought the Jolly needed a more traditional colour palette! Your cards are just gorgeous and I might have to case them! Love that you have just taken out the heat embossing after a little bit of a holiday! It is fun isn’t it!
You were busy this week, Michele, all four cards are beautiful. I giggled at your spending an hour on the ribbon bow ‘for a friend’. Too funny, but it looks great and you got there in the end. These dies sure are going to be popular for so many of the sentiment stamps in the SU range. I love the magic of heat embossing and the elegance it brings – I can’t believe you haven’t used it in years!
Delightful set of cards Michele. The new frame dies and Christmas greetings have come up beautifully with both non-traditional and traditional DSP. Love that double bow on your second card!
Such lovely cards Michele and a great way to feature the up and coming goodies. Being a traditionalist myself I love the ones featuring the traditional coloured papers. I can’t believe you have heat embossed for ages. I always love it’s effect.
Michele, those two blue cards are simply gorgeous! They’re stand outs for me as I adore non traditional Christmas colours. In saying that, the traditional cards are beautiful and the inked edges really have added a lovely depth and I love the gold embossed sentiments. Everything ties together just perfectly.
Oh wow Michele – 4 delightful Fitting Frames cards. I love them all. I love this bundle and I love the way you have used it. Your alternate colour scheme/DSP have made gorgeous cards – I do love alternative option. I also love traditional. Xxx
Such beautiful cards, Michele … and a highly entertaining blog post! LOVE the colours on all of your cards, but the new papers are especially beautiful with their unexpected colour combinations, aren’t they? You have showcased them, and the Fitted Florets bundle, so beautifully. (Am I overusing the reference to “beautiful”?!) How shocking that you haven’t heat-embossed for years – it’s the BEST! Yes, it is very satisfying; I am still sucked in by the wow factor, after using this technique for 25 years. I do think an hour is a little long to be faffing around with a bow, but, hey, the end result was worth it – if it was your friend creating the bow for your card 😉
What lovely cards Michele! I just knew these Floral Florets Dies would work SO well with other Christmas DSP and I am so glad you chose the Holly which I have been playing with. Gorgeous!!
