Resistance is futile!!! Unless of course you are talking about the purchase of craft supplies and in particular beautiful Christmas bundles by Stampin’ Up! Somehow the Christmas Gleaming bundle found it’s way to my house when I had expressly said, “No more Christmas ornament stamps or punches.” I actually blame this blog hop. A number of the talented card makers have featured this set and well as I said before, resistance is futile!
And fortunately I have never had to do this ever as my husband is the best (yes, he does read my blog)……
I did choose not to purchase the coordinating designer series paper (well not yet anyway) so I had to be a little inventive.
For cards one and two I used the Merry Christmas stamp and my trusty Stamparatus to repeatedly stamp an accent piece using Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana. I also used the large holly and small dots stamps to create a background on the front of each card. On Card One, after adhering the stamped strip I then adhered, using dimensionals, two punched ornaments. To create the ornaments I stamped directly onto silver foil using StazOn ink. I added connecting lines, rhinestones and small bows and the card was finished. For Card Two, I tied a bow around the stamped panel before adhering it to a piece of designer series paper with dimensionals. This panel was then adhered to the middle of the card front and a few rhinestones scattered around.
When stamping on the foil with StazOn I would recommend using your Stamparatus so that the stamp doesn’t shift around on the foil……ask me how I know this š
On Card Three I also used punched ornaments that had been stamped using StazOn. Firstly, I embossed the front of the card using the Tufted embossing folder. I had never done this before. I use embossing folders a lot but I always emboss a seperate piece of cardstock and then glue it onto the card. Embossing the card directly worked a treat. You just need to take a little care when lining up the folder and card. I then adhered a die cut bough and sentiment before embellishing with red rhinestones and bows.
I am very happy with the results and happy that the Christmas Gleaming bundle made it’s way to my place.

Ooh’s and Aah’s here Michele – your cards are just FANTASTIC! Love them all! (Oh, and P.S. I’m a Star Trek fan too! lol)
Your cards are fabulous! I’m a real sucker for the Coastal Cabana/ Real Red combo, and I love the addition of Flirty Flamingo.
Love all of your card! Yes the Stamparatus is the best I can’t get enough of it for stamping now. You have done a fantastic job with your 3 cards and have chosen fantastic colours because you haven’t tied yourself to the coordinating dps! Yes resistance is futile, I gave in too!
Thanks so much Sharon.
What a lovely take on this stamp set, and really a different colour scheme. Really great cards Michelle.
Thanks Diane.
Wow, wow, wow, I love how you have used this bundle with totally different colours and creating your own designs. I just love the sentiment stamped multiple times in different colours too, gorgeous.
Wow, three cards Michelle. Love your stepped stamping and embossing. š
Michelle, just wow! These cards are the best cards I’ve seen with this stamp set. You are truely an artist xxx
Thanks Catherine. You are too kind.
