Week 19: Gorgeous Grape

that feature Gorgeous Grape including – Classic Stampin’ Pad, cardstock, ink refill, Brights Designer Series Paper pack, Brights Stampin’ Write Markers, Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2, Ombre Specialty Paper and Sheer Ribbon.
But my favourite product to feature the colour Gorgeous Grape is……
The struggle is real some days in my craft room. After a big week preparing for World Card Making Day, it was suddenly Sunday and I realised that I didn’t have a card for this week’s Colour Creations Blog Hop. It is funny as I have cards made for quite a number of the weeks ahead, but had been putting off making my Gorgeous Grape card.
Now, it is not because I don’t like the colour. In fact the opposite is true. Purple is one of my favourite colours and a colour that evokes so many fond memories of very special people in my life, unfortunately and sadly, no longer with us. However, I just wasn’t feeling it until I opened an order that had been sitting on the floor in my room since midweek, unloved and unopened. The order contained mainly boring things like glue, envelopes and cardstock and I had actually forgotten that I had also finally ordered the Welcoming Window bundle.
Truth be told I ordered it just for the window die as I want to use it for a Christmas card I have in mind, but suddenly I was motivated by the opportunity to work with something new.
My card:
Yes, I know that you have to look carefully to find the Gorgeous Grape, but it is there. I do so love purple flowers. Our garden is full of them as we settled on a purple and white theme when we first planned out and planted the garden many years ago. Over the years we have introduced a few yellow blooms but in the most part our garden is still predominantly purple and white.
I wanted to represent sitting in a cosy room, looking out to the blue sky beyond. We actually do have a corner in our family room filled with pot plants that you look out over to the garden beyond.
I added the same pot plant to the inside of the card and the envelope. Of course, I had to also add some of my favourite Gorgeous Grape product (Pastel Pearls) to my card as a finishing touch. I also thought I needed a third spot of Gorgeous Grape on my card. It helps to draw your eye from the top to the bottom of the card.

Such a peaceful and cosy scene and so love your potted purple flowers Michele. You have certainly achieved that homely effect. Lovely!
Such a sweet card Michele, and I do love your story of how purple evokes some beautiful memories for you. I can just imagine sitting in that lovely room looking out over the garden.
Your little window scene is so pretty with the gorgeous flower pots and purple jug sitting on the window sill. Can’t wait to see what you make with this bundle for a Christmas card!
You have created a really sweet scene with this beautiful bundle, Michele. I love the depth of colour on the potted plants, and like that the jug is a lighter shade. As always, a really lovely project. x
Michele, I love the way you have evoked the corner of your home with this beautiful card. I do admit I had a giggle when you said you ordered the bundle just for one die – a true crafter!
Your card is very sweet, Michele, and how awesome is is that it reminds you of your own home and garden?
