AWH Team Creative Showcase for March – Monochromatic

Welcome to the AWH Team Monthly Showcase. This month the Art With Heart Team are featuring Monochromatic cards, that is cards that only use different shades of the same colour. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the wonderful range of Stampin’ Up! colours across our ink pads, papers and embellishments which can be combined to produce the amazing monochromatic samples we have to share with you today.

My cards:

For my first card I used the large Happy Birthday stamp from Happy Birthday to You, which is a $90 Sale-A-Bration item. I love this greeting and chose three shades of coral to use with it – Calypso Carol, Grapefruit Grove and Petal Pink. I teamed the large scripty greeting with a san serif sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays. Of course I used my trusty Stamparatus to ensure perfect repeated placement of the stamping. The flowers are also a Sale-A-Bration item and I also used them and the coordinating punch on my second card (see below). Please note that the Small Blooms punch is a carry over item and it will also be found in the upcoming 2020/2021 Annual Catalogue. So why not get it now for FREE while you can. Remember Sale-A-Bration runs until midnight on 31 March and now is the time to make that purchase you have been considering.

My second card features the Small Blooms punch and the coordinating Thoughtful Blooms stamp set. I nearly overlooked this set. By golly, am I glad that I didn’t!!! I have been using it non stop. The punched blooms are the perfect size to use as an embellishment on so many projects and the stamp images make for perfect wreath building. Stay tuned 🙂

My monochromatic colour palette for this card includes Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Purple Posy. I do like a simple design and repetition is always pleasing to the eye. I chose to use this gorgeous piece of DSP as my main matt. It is from the Best Dressed 6in x 6in paper pack, which can be found in the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue.

Michelle both your cards are fantastic! I love your ombré effect in the first one and your purple card is equally delightful xx

  2. Tina Gillespie

Your cards are so pretty, but I especially love the coral card. Funny, as I’m not usually a fan of those tones!

  3. Caroline

I love both of your cards Michele – I can’t pick a favourite. I just love the colour combination on your Happy Birthday card and I am a bit of a purple fan too.

  4. Sujatha Harding

Your cards are beautiful, Michele! I love the Mother’s Day card especially.

  5. Sharon

Both great cards Michele, love the coloring in the first and the DSP in the second to help with the colour palette.

  6. Kate Morgan

Yes, you are the Queen of the Stamparatus! How fantastic is that first card?!! Love it. The Small Bloom punch is a must have and I love that you paired it up with that DSP, very sweet card.

  7. Claire Daly

Love your cards Michelle, particularly the symmetry of the Gorgeous Grape one.

  8. Andrea Sargent

Great cards Michele. Love their simplicity; and your use of Saleabration items. (I think I’d missed that the Small Bloom punch was carrying over – so glad I have earned one. xxx
