AWHT Colour Creations Showcase – Petal Pink

Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.

Week 34: Petal Pink

Petal Pink is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Subtles collection…….and is a pale pink with a more coral tone to it. There are several Petal Pink products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends, Organdy Striped Ribbon and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Subtles Assortment.

Petal Pink features in a number of designer series paper collections across all three current catalogues……

One other Petal Pink product that I would like to highlight is the gorgeous Elegant Faceted Gems. I often use these as a finishing touch on my cards.

my card:

After introducing you to some of the many products in the Stampin’ Up! range that feature Petal Pink, I only used two of the very basic when creating my card……ink and cardstock. 🙂

You see……I don’t like Petal Pink. (I feel like the bloke in the commercial that doesn’t like beer anymore!!!) I wonder if there is a Petal Pink Anonymous that I should join. To be fair though, I don’t like the colour pink. Never have!!!

For my card I used the Art Gallery bundle and the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. The flower was stamped with Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Night of Navy. I actually like this colour combination. The embossing folder adds gorgeous texture to the background and the leaves were die cut from Old Olive using a die from the Hydrangea set.

I added a very playful and cheeky sentiment to offset the more formal flowers. It was stamped using Night of Navy and of course I had to add some Night of Navy gems from my favourite rhinestone collection.

Funny, I really like the completed card……even if it is pink. 😉

You’ve made a lovely card for someone who doesn’t like PINK!

  2. Caroline Manwaring

I love the colour combo of Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Night of Navy, Michele. The flowers look gorgeous in such a striking combination of those colours. NoN works really well with Petal Pink, and the navy rhinestones add the perfect accent to your lovely card.

  3. Kate Morgan

I love your card and for someone who doesn’t like pink, this is awesome. I think the PP ink actually works well for this flower using the two step stamping. Oh and you made me giggle with your reference to the beer ad LOL

  4. Andrea Sargent

A gorgeous card Michele. I so love your colour combination with the Art Gallery bundle. Your card certainly doesn’t show that you don’t like petal pink – you have used it beautifully. xxx

  5. Kathryn Ruddick

Fabulous card Michele! Oh I LOVE that embossing folder! It’s amazing and it looks like gelato in that colour!

  6. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Well done, you, on making such a beautiful card with a colour you don’t like (I’m hearing you!)!! I really love how delicate those die-cut leaves are, and they complement the flowers beautifully. Nice work, Michele.

  7. Catherine Proctor

Great card Michelle for someone who hates this colour! The Calypso Coral really works well with Petal Pink on your two step stamped flower. Thanks for joining the CCS tonight!
