Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.
Week 36: Poppy Parade
Poppy Parade is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Brights collection…….and is a vivid red. There are several Poppy Parade products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Brights Assortment.
Poppy Parade features in a number of designer series paper collections across all three current catalogues……
Reds and Pinks are always hard for me as they are colours of which I am not fond!!! Last year I had to draw on inspiration from a travel scrapbook and some coffee mugs (see HERE), but this year it was much easier as I am in love with the Berry Delightful DSP.
my card:
So my card features both the Berry Blessing stamp set and the Berry Delightful designer series paper. I love everything about this bundle. The sentiments are fabulous, the colour palette bright and gorgeous and the images simply stunning. It simply makes me smile and think of long hot, but very happy, summer days.
I love the DSP so much that I made it the focal point of my card. The leaves were stamped on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Garden Green and Granny Apple Green. I then embossed the panel with the Subtle embossing folder. I was careful with the placement of my leaves as I wanted them to ‘pop’ out from behind my focal point which was matted with a scalloped piece of Daffodil Delight. I then matted the finished panel with another piece of the Berry Delightful DSP, before adhering it to a card base of Poppy Parade. The sequins are from a retired pack but the Artistry Blooms sequins would work well……if only I could find where I put them. 🙂

I like how you have the leaves peeking out from behind the circle.
A beautiful card Michele. It’s hard to accept that there are so few products used but you’ve done it beautifully. I actually had to keep checking. lol
Gorgeous card Michele – love it. I love the stamped leaves behind the circle of DSP. I love this pack of DSP too.
Gorgeous Michele, I love how you stamped the leaves behind the circle and featured this yummy DSP!
This is a really beautiful card Michele, I love the simplicity of its design, and yet it is not lacking in beautiful details. Nicely done!
This is gorgeous, Michele! I LOVE that you made the DSP your focal point; it is so pretty. The placement of the stamped leaves, peeking out from behind the circles, is perfect … as is the subtle embossing.
Oh, I love this so much!!! I will definitely be CASEing!
Wow Michelle, you would never know that you didn’t like red and pink by looking at your beautiful card – you’ve really done that DSP justice and the white embossed space showcases it perfectly!
