AWHT Colour Creations Showcase – Pumpkin Pie

Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.

Week 38: Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Regals collection…….and is a bright orange. There are several Pumpkin Pie products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Regals Assortment.

Pumpkin Pie features in just the one designer series paper collection, Fine Art Floral. It is a gorgeous set of papers and I used one of the B-sides for my card today.

my card:

For my card I teamed my chosen piece of designer series paper with the In Bloom stamp set. This stamp set is gorgeous and perfect for wreath building. The coordinating dies – Pierced Blooms – are just fantastic as they add wonderful texture to each diecut. Treat yourself to the bundle……it really is a must have!!!

When designing my card I used the DSP to inform my colour choices, so I decided to team Flirty Flamingo with the Pumpkin Pie. I added a little Merry Merlot and black for the flower centres for added depth. The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green and the solid leaf stamp from Hydrangea Haven.

I stamped the flowers first and then covered them with a mask before stamping the leaves as I wanted the leaves to look like they were tucked in behind the flowers. It was a little fiddly but worth the effort as I am happy with the result.

My sentiment is one I had on hand. It is from the Many Messages bundle. It is so clever how so many lovely sentiments are included on one large cling stamp which can then be cut out by the one large coordinating die. I nearly overlooked this bundle in the catalogue. Boy am I glad I didn’t!!!

I spent some time one afternoon stamping it out using a number of different colours, before diecutting and then sorting the sentiments into a small divided box that I keep beside my craft table for occasions just like this. It is great to have on hand when you are in a crafting frenzy or simply can’t be bothered looking through all you sets to find the right sentiment. 🙂

Pumpkin Pie is also featured as part of my favourite set of embellishment. Yes that is correct……the Holiday Rhinestones includes Pumpkin Pie jewels. So, I added a few to my card for a touch of glitz and glamour along with a bow of gold twine.

I have everything crossed that these little beauties don’t appear on the retiring list later this month. Look out if they do!!! Purchasing of how many sets do you think would be too many? 😉 Yes, of course, the answer is there that is no such thing as too many.

Thanks for visiting but, there is so much more to see. Please hop back to Catherine’s blog where you will find links to all the other team members and their gorgeous creations.

If you would like to purchase any of the products that I used when creating this card, the links are included below. If you would like a copy of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, and/or January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Thanks Michele.

Michele, you are certainly the Queen of stamping in the round. So love your card with the wreath of In Bloom Flowers mounted on the perfect DSP for your card. The leaves “sitting behind the flowers” is just right. I love the Many Messages bundle too.

Oh, the prettiness! Such a sweet colour combination, Michele, and you have made it work beautifully. Great work with the masking, to make those leaves look like they’re tucked behind the flowers. You have every reason to be happy with the end result! I thought of you when I used the Pumpkin Pie Holiday Rhinestones this week. 🙂
