AWHT Heart of Christmas – August

Welcome to the 2020 edition of the Heart of Christmas showcase brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a monthly basis.

This month I am using products that can be found in the gorgeous August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue. There is just so much to like in this mini catalogue. Click on the catalogue below to view all the gorgeous goodies for yourself.

Both of my cards feature my favourite technique of stamping in the round/wreath building. I used two pieces of Poinsettia Place designer series paper as my inspiration, with the intent of creating wreaths that replicated images in the paper.

card no. 1:

My first card features the holly branches DSP from Poinsettia Place. I then used the two-step stamp from the coordinating stamp set – Poinsettia Petals to create my wreath. It is a little hard to see but I tried to replicate the ‘grungy’ background in the paper with the splatter stamp from Christmas Gleaming. The holly branches were stamped in Soft Suede and Real Red and the splatters are Bumble Bee. The sentiment is from another new stamp set called Joyful Holly and the stamped panel was matted with Bumble Bee cardstock. The square card is Soft Suede.

card no. 2:

For my second card I wanted to replicate the two tone holly leaves and berries on another of the lovely Poinsettia Places papers. One of my favourite new Christmas stamps sets is Peace & Joy. It comes as a bundle with the Joy dies and it is fabulous. I have been creating up a storm with it while in iso.

I used my Stamparatus and the holly and berry stamps from the set to firstly stamp the holly leaves using Bumble Bee. Next, I applied Old Olive to the stamp using a sponge dauber and stamped again. The splatter, which I stamped in Garden Green, is from the Whale Done stamp set. The sentiment is from Joyful Holly and is stamped in Soft Suede.

Both of your cards are beautiful Michele. In fact you have just persuaded me to get the Joyful holly stamp set! Might have to CASE them

  2. Kate Morgan

Wow, Michele, both great cards, but your second one is exceptional. I love how you sponged the extra tone on the holly!

  3. Diane Furniss

  5. Andrea Sargent

I love your Wreath cards Michele. You are a champion with them. The way you have stamped the wreath to link with the background DSP is inspired. Gorgeous cards. xxx

  6. Judy May

Beautiful cards, Michele. I think the holly berries are my fave by a whisker, lol. I love the greeting and that it fits into a circle, as most don’t. Thanks so much for being part of Heart of Christmas this month!

  7. CHRISTINE BLAIN

These are very cool cards, Michele! We’d all be disappointed if you hadn’t used the “stamping in the round” technique, I think. Love the splatters and the berries on the first card, and the blending of colours on the holly leaves on the second. You’re very creative!

  8. Caroline Manwaring

I really love square cards and these are just gorgeous, Michele.

  9. Tina Gillespie

These are both such wonderful cards! You are so inventive with your stamping in the round. I have the Peace and Joy bundle, so I’m very keen to CASE that card!

  10. Rachel Woollard

Beautiful cards Michele, lots of Stamparatus work there
