Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2021 – Week 1

Welcome to the 2021 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

And…. so we find ourselves in July again (Where do the years go?), with the gorgeous July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue sales period beginning on 3 August. There is lots to like in this new mini and selecting the things that I ‘had to have’ first, as part of my preorder, was very difficult.

I am happy with my final decision and look forward to sharing my chosen products with you over the coming weeks, but for this week, I will be using the lovely Poinsettia Petals stamp set when creating my card.

my card:

The Poinsettia Place suite was one of my favourites in last year’s Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalogue and I was happy to see the stamp set and coordinating dies return in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.

Using the design principle of odd numbered groupings I stamped three of the poinsettias, using Pool Party, onto my panel of Shimmery White. I then stamped three sprigs of berries and three sets of leaves. The result, while pretty, was a bit bland so I decided to add some ‘depth and texture’ by adding the script and vines from Very Versailles using Sahara Sand ink.

I sponged the edges before adding a bow of linen thread and my greeting, which is from the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set. The finished panel was then mounted on a thin matt of Pool Party before adhering to a card base of Cherry Cobbler.

For a little added detail, I also stamped the Shimmery White insert for the inside of the card, and the envelope.

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the inspiring Rachel Woollard. I am so looking forward to seeing her creation for this week.

If at any time you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different place, please head over to Sharon Davern’s blog. Sharon is hosting  Week 1 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop and she will have the full list of participants.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by this week. I hope to see you back here next Monday, when the team will have more of their inspiration and wonderful creations to share with you.

In the meantime if you would like a copy of either the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue or the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Happy crafting, Michele.
