Shaded Spruce | Week 45 – AWHT CCBH 2022/23

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team’s Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. Each week members of the team will showcase a colour from the extensive Stampin’ Up! range. We began the Stampin’ Up! year with the fabulous NEW 2022-2024 In Colors and are now showcasing the other colours in alphabetical order.

Week 45: Shaded Spruce

Shaded Spruce is a lovely rich green that I associate with Christmas and the forest around Whistler in British Columbia, Canada. The diversity of spruce and pine trees is truly amazing and the colours are so much greener than the more blue/green/grey of Australian trees.

My cards:

My cards this week again feature one of my favourite suite of products from the 2023 Jan – Apr Mini Catalogue – Regency Park.

card no.1:

Participants in my March classes each made a version of this fold out card, which showcases a single piece of 6 x 6in designer series paper.

With my mid-April market stall fast approaching, I have been making several Mother’s Day cards. This greeting is one of only a few in the current catalogue that specifically celebrate mothers and it can be found in the Celebrating You stamp set, which is a bit of a go-to for me. It was diecut using a die from the Geraniums set of dies, which is the perfect size and shape for this scripty greeting.

My flowers were actually punched directly from the DSP.

A few milky dots were the finishing touch.

card no.2:

Participants in the March class also made a version of my second card. Here, I drew on the piece of DSP I used for card one, for my colour palette.

The first flowers were stamped directly onto the card panel. I then stamped and punched out a second set of flowers, before gluing them over the flowers on the panel for added dimension. The greeting is from the set Go To Greetings. If you have somehow overlooked this fabulous set……it can be found on page 26 of the Annual Catalogue and is a must have. It is just so elegant and versatile.

Both cards feature my new favourite embellishment – Milky Dots. The two different sizes fit perfectly in the centres of the flowers.

Both cards show off this suite rather well. The Shaded Spruce is a bold colour for leaves but I do like the way it supports the flowers on your 2nd card.

  2. Andrea Sargent

Two beautiful beautiful cards Michele. I love your fun fold card featuring the delightful DSP. Isn’t it wonderful to be able to punch out flowers from the DSP. Your second card is simply gorgeous. I love the added dimension of the 2nd layer of flowers with the Milky Dots centres. Delightful. xxx

  3. Kathryn Mangelsdorf

Both your version of the card using the same colours and stamp sets are beautiful. I like the simplicity of your fancy fold card with matching DSP.

  4. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Lovely cards, Michele. Don’t you just love punches and dies that co-ordinate with DSP as well as stamps? You’ve used this bundle beautifully. I am super-impressed with how straight you have stamped the sentiment on your second card. My head is always screwed on a little crookedly when I try to do that! LOL.

  5. Kate Morgan

Great cards, Michele. It has been hard to resist this bundle, but the DSP is super pretty and I love how you cut the flowers from the DSP with the punch.

  6. Caroline Manwaring

Two gorgeous cards, Michele. Card 1 showcases the Regency Park DSP so well, and I love the addition of those Night of Navy milky dots – it’s a lovely contrast colour. I love the simplicity of Card 2, and the beautiful font of the greeting compliments your floral image so perfectly.

  7. Catherine Proctor

Just gorgeous, Michele! I particularly love the dimension of the flowers on your second card.

  8. Tina Gillespie

Your cards are both so pretty! This is a really lovely suite of products that you’ve showcased beautifully.
