I have a confession to make……I don’t like the colour pink. I have never owned or worn anything pink. Even as a small girl I would wear blue and mauve but never pink. But as a card maker I find that I do use pink quite often. Go figure!!! Petal Pink is the focus of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop this week. It is not what I would call a true pink as it has a touch of coral to it. It works very well with Calypso Coral and the retired Crisp Cantaloupe. For my card today I teamed it with Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green. I used the Pop of Petal bundle for my stamping and punching. I only recently purchased this bundle and I absolutely love it. Certainly one that I would recommend as the images are lovely and the matching punch just makes it so easy to create dimensional flowers (and leaves.)
Now anyone who has read my blog knows that I am a little bit addicted to making wreath cards. The trio of flowers stamp included in this set is perfect for just that……with a bit of a tweak! I simply cut it apart and made three seperate smaller stamps. In the photo you can see that I used one of these to stamp a small flower in So Saffron. Don’t ever be afraid to cut your stamps apart. I have done it with lots and lots. Not only do I cut apart images, I also cut apart sentiments. Have you ever had a sentiment that was not quite right? I will sometimes combine one part of a larger, longer sentiment with part of another to make a new and more fitting sentiment. Card designer and Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Connie Stewart recently posted a YouTube video that demonstrated how she cuts apart her stamps to make them more versatile. You can view Connie’s video here. Be brave and give it a try! You will be surprised how many more options you will have.

Michele, your card is really beautiful. I love the colour combination. I can’t resist a square card!
Gorgeous card! I love the large, offset flowers, they add just the right dimension to your card.
It’s a Beautiful card Michelle, I love pink as a colour but I like bright pinks on this colour very much. but I love it on your card.
Yes, I too love your wreath cards. How funny that you have never worn pink but use pink in your cards. I was a bit the same as a kid, but I actually quite like the brighter pinks now! Your card is gorgeous and I must have a go at this technique more.
Oh, Michelle, I love your wreath cards! And you’re right, that stamp set is just perfect for a wreath card. Thank you so much for hopping along tonight!
