Week 40 AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop – Powder Pink

Welcome to Week 40 of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop. The weeks certainly fly by and sadly we in the Southern Hemisphere have had to say goodbye to summer, although I must say that March is by far my favourite month of the year because the weather in Melbourne is simply glorious.

This week we are featuring Powder Pink which is a soft pink that although given my aversion to the colours red and pink, I do in fact use because it is so subtle. It is a lovely shade for baby cards and works well with florals, however as it is an In Colour 2017-2019 it will be retiring in June along with my favourite colour in the whole collection Lemon Lime Twist. I think we need to start a petition immediately!!! “What do we want? Lemon Lime Twist!!! When do we want it? NOW……and forever.” As it is, I used both of these colours with the addition of Pool Party when making my card this week.

I used stamps from the Painted Seasons bundle to stamp the wreath and the succulents and a piece of the beautiful dsp as a matt. I loved the way that the leaf diecut from the Foliage Frames framelits matched so well. I added a sentiment from the Well Said bundle which I then diecut using the smallest stitched rectangle from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. I added some gold thread as a finishing touch and my card was complete.

When stamping the succulents I used my Stamparatus to ‘colourise’ my images. I used both the brush end of a Stampin’ Write marker and also a sponge dauber to add the shading. It is just so easy and adds so much depth to any image.

As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask and if you live in Australia and would like to purchase any of the products I used when creating this card you can do so by following the links below.

Thanks Michele.

And to all our lovely New Zealand friends and demonstrators……Kia Kaha! We are thinking of you all.
