Week 41 sees the AWH team using one of the colours from the Subtle Collection – Pumpkin Pie. I quite like the colour orange. Being a child of the 70s I remember orange and olive green laminate and tiles and of course, mission brown everything! Now days I associate orange with Autumn and North East Victoria. There is nowhere quite like Beechworth, Bright, Harrietville, Wangaratta etc for beautiful autumn scenes and colours.
My first card uses Crumb Cake as a base. I used some of my favourite products when creating this card – the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Crackle Paint Background Stamp, Rectangle Stitched Framelits and the Dear Doily Bundle. While I love this card I felt that I hadn’t really showcased the colour Pumpkin Pie enough so I sat down with a Pumpkin Pie card base and some of the scraps and bits and pieces that were left over from card one to see if I could really make the colour shine. I also used the Painted Seasons Bundle, the coordinating For Seasons Framelits, a small scrap of the coordinating designer series paper and some gold metallic thread. For both cards I used the Well Written Framelits for my sentiments. I delayed purchasing this bundle for some time as the idea of using liquid glue to adhere the very fine diecut pieces made my fingers feel sticky!!! I then saw some clever demonstrator using the multipurpose adhesive sheets prior to die cutting the words and I couldn’t order the set fast enough. I actually cut each word out three times and adhered them together to make the sentiment more dimensional. On the second card I added the small word birthday using a diecut label from the Stitched Labels Framelit set. It comes from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set. I actually cut the Happy Birthday sentiment in half to make it just that bit more versatile. I have another blog post here where I talk about cutting up my stamps and also use the Painted Seasons bundle and coordinating dies.

If you live in Australia and would like to purchase any of the products that I used when creating these cards, please use the links below. Please also remember that Sale-A-Bration ends on 31 March. As of then so many lovely products, such as the Painted Seasons Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper, will be gone forever, so get your orders in this week.
Thanks Michele.

Your crds are fabulous! I love how the first has just pops of Pumpkin Pie, it looks so effective! The second card is amazing too. I will have to try layering my Well Written die cuts.
Michele, I love the design of both your cards. It would be difficult to pick a favourite as the first card uses my all time favourite colour, Crumb Cake, and I love the vibrancy of your second card. Great cards!
Oh please don’t ask me to pick as I love them both. Great cards Michele.
Both lovely cards, Michele. I like how the first card has the lovely pop of colour. The second card is so pretty too and I love the embossed panel with the small strip of DSP. I’ll miss this bundle when it retires.
Beautiful cards Michele, you’ve used the Pumpkin Pie well and I do love it with the Painted Seasons bundle.
Lovely cards Michele. Loved the subtlety of the Pumpkin Pie on the first card – looks very elegant. For the second card, I love how all those elements came together and it is such a bright and cheery card.
Michelle, I am in shock…no square cards this week? But seriously, these are both just as beautiful as your square card and the colour combos are fabulous too. Thank you for hopping along tonight!
I know Catherine. I surprised myself too 🙂
