Heart of Christmas | more Trimming the Tree

Welcome to the 2022 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will again be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

my cards:

Both of my cards use the oh so cute mini ornament stamps from the Trimming The Tree stamp set, which can be found on page 43 of the annual catalogue. I originally overlooked this stamp set until Stampin’ Up! created six new dies to coordinate with select stamp sets in the Annual Catalogue and the July–December 2022 Mini Catalogue, as part of the Perfect Partners promotion.

These coordinating dies will only be available during this promotion and will not be offered in any catalogue. The stamp sets and dies are available separately or as a bundle, however, buying the bundle saves you 10% off the retail price.

You can download the Perfect Partners flyer HERE, but please be aware that the promotion only runs f0r the month of September and therefore finishes this Friday. I featured this wonderful bundle in a previous post HERE.

card no.1:

This absolute perfect little sprig comes from the Christmas Banners stamp set and the ornaments, bow and greeting all come from Trimming The Tree. I do love to look for small elements perfect for creating wreath designs.

I wanted to highlight this lovely piece of designer series paper from the Celebrate Everything (HOST) DSP. The Polished Pink and Pool Party work well with the Real Red and Garden Green for a fresh twist on a Christmas colour palette.

I added a red rhinestone to the centre of each of the bows. I really was very happy with how this one turned out.

card no.2:

For my second card I used the same colour palette and introduced my favourite neutral – Sahara Sand.

After masking off a section of the focal panel I stamped the bows of the tree in a random pattern before adding the ornaments. I then stamped over the entire section using the small splatter stamp from the Merriest Moments stamp set and Sahara Sand. Finally, I used a blending brush and Sahara Sand to add colour along all the edges before carefully removing the masking paper.

The greeting was diecut using a die from the Tree Trimming set. I then diecut it a second time using Real Red cardstock which I cut in half before using it as a matt for my greeting.

Finally, I cut two small notches in the card front before winding linen thread around it several time before tying it in a floppy bow. My final touch was to add a sprinkling of red rhinestones.

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Catherine Proctor. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by this week. I hope to see you back here next Monday, when the team will have more of their inspiration and wonderful creations to share with you.

In the meantime if you would like a copy of either the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue and/or the July – December 2022 Mini Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Both stunning cards Michele. I love the colours in your wreath against the pink DSP background. Your second card is brilliant using the masking technique to create the focal panel. Really pretty!

  2. Theresa Gerrard

Two beautiful cards Michele. Lovely to see the IN The Round again. I especially love the sentiment panel on the second card and the addition of the Real Red mat.

  3. Kate Morgan

These are both beautiful cards, Michele. I love your stamped wreath using this stamp set and the combination of colours. The second card is awesome and your masked panel blended with Sahara Sand ink then stamping almost fooled me thinking it was DSP! Gorgeous!

  4. Catherine Proctor

Michele, I’m so happy to see another of your gorgeous wreath cards, but I cannot stop looking at your second card. As much as I love Crumb Cake, the blended Sahara Sand ink that gives a vintage look to your second card is making me wonder why I don’t use Sahara Sand more as it is gorgeous!

  5. Sharon Davern

Both cards are great and I love the use of the little ornaments on the cards and making the wreath. The red rhinestone addition is perfect for your wreath, lovely lots of layers to make it a gorgeous card. I love Sahara sand too. I have just run out of all my cardstock so need to get some more. I love the panel you have created for your second card it is fabulous!

  6. Tina Gillespie

I honestly thought that the wreath card would be my favourite of your two cards when I saw them in the first photo. It really is gorgeous! But then I saw the close-up of the second card, and it’s absolutely stunning. I love the splatters and inked edges. Swoon!

  7. Andrea Sargent

Delightful cards Michele. I love your stamping in the round – you are the absolute expert. Your use of the little decorations in both real red and pool party is beautiful. So love the way you arranged the pine fronds, bow and decorations. Your second card is gorgeous with the masked panel. Love it. Xxx

  8. Caroline Manwaring

Michele, both cards are gorgeous! I love the colour palette and how creative you’ve been with those tiny stamps. I thought the panel on card 2 was a piece of DSP until I read that you had stamped it! Just beautiful!

  9. CHRISTINE BLAIN

I love the addition of red rhinestones to every bow on your first card, Michele. Your second card is a standout favourite, for me. The masked panel, your use of stamps, and the blended Sahara Sand ink to give a slightly vintage look … all gorgeous!
