Heart of Christmas – Week 13 2023

Welcome to the 2023 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Each Monday, through until mid December, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have to offer. This year we will be working with Christmas products found in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, those on offer as an Online Exclusive and new products from the Sept-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue.

my cards:

Both of my cards this week showcase non-traditional Christmas colours. Over the past years I have endeavoured not to include Northern Hemisphere elements on many of my Christmas cards. While I do actually love a very traditional winter Christmas scene, I have come to realise that it is not representative of our hot summer Christmases. I still make a few traditional cards as I have people ask for them at the market, but for my personal cards I will be rocking the bright and bold.

Using the fabulous Tiny Christmas Trees die and Crumb Cake cardstock I created the focal panels for both cards. Both cards also feature the Melon Mambo & Granny Apple Green Foil Sheets.

Card no.1:

When creating the first card I matted the focal panel with Granny Apple Green Foil before adhering it to a card base of Granny Apple Green.

The Christmas light bulbs were diecut from Melon Mambo cardstock and the filament and cap from Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper. These terrific dies and the greeting that I used can be found in the Merry & Bright bundle.

For the finishing touch I used Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs. Now, if you have overlooked these fabulous little embellishments I urge you to check them out on page 77 of the mini catalogue, as they add the perfect amount of shimmer and shine without the bulk.

card no.:2

My second card is very similar. This time I used the Melon Mambo Foil behind the diecut panel. The card base is also Melon Mambo. I used a greeting from the Christmas Classics bundle and the pine needles die is from the Joy of Noel bundle and is quite possibly my most used die this season.

Again a trio of iridescent discs, this time in the Granny Apple Green, was all that was needed to finish off my card.

While these cards are a simple design, they pack a punch with their bold colours and shimmer and shine. They actually make me smile and think of family Christmases and long hot summers spent in rural Victoria.

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Kate Morgan. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head back to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope you are inspired to start your Christmas card making and I that you will visit again next Monday for more Christmas ideas and fun.

In the meantime, if you would like a copy of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue and/or the September-December 2023 Mini Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop them in the post for you.

I haven’t seen many cards made with the tree die, but wow, how good does it look in crumb cake and that glorious shining foil behind! I love that you added your focal detail in the lower corner to really let the shine reveal itself. Great cards.

  2. Sharon Davern

These are fantastic! I must have missed this die somewhere along the line! I love how you have used the crumb cake to off set all the gorgeous sparkle and colour as it really makes it all pop! It really works fabulously! Love them so much!

  3. Wendie

    Love your cards.

  4. Rosa Leyden

Very cute cards Michele and they sure do pack a punch with all the foil accents and those iridescent adhesive backed discs are just gorgeous! Fabulous and bright cards.

  5. CHRISTINE BLAIN

I really haven’t seen anything made with these gloriously bright foil sheets, and I love how you’ve showcased them, Michele! I always like a bit of rustic/shiny contrast, and you’ve nailed that, pairing the foils with Crumb Cake overlays. The tiny Christmas tree cut-outs are a fun way to show off the foil sheets. Lovely, happy, cards!

  6. Rachel Woollard

Two lovely cards Michele. I love the foil trees peeping through the Crumb Cake card fronts.
