Heart of Christmas – Week 4 2023

Welcome to the 2023 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Each Monday, through until mid December, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have to offer. For the month of August we will be working with Christmas products found in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, those on offer as an Online Exclusive and once our preorders arrive……new products from the upcoming Sept-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue. My card today again offers a sneak peek of a fabulous mega suite called Joy of Christmas. So let’s get started……

my card:

My simple card doesn’t looks so simple because this fabulous die in the Christmas Classic bundle adds all the detail and texture. The die is actually made to be used as a layer behind a sentiment label, but in this case, I cut it through the middle and used it behind my focal panel of DSP.

If you know the sensational Timeless Arrangements dies (page 67 AC), you will recognise that I have used this die in a similar way……just on a bigger scale. I also diecut some pine needles to use as an additional layer behind the holly leaves.

I added some small red circles as the holly berries, but to be honest I am not completely satisfied with them. In last week’s Heart of Christmas blog hop Christine Blain and Kate Morgan came up with some ingenious ways of colouring the berries. Make sure you check them out.

The sentiments that come as part of the Christmas Classic stamp set are terrific. I just love the font and ‘Deck the Halls’ is one of my favourite sentiments to use during the festive season. You may spy another sneak peek of a new product. Yes!!! The new mini catalogue includes a set of deckled circles. This large set of dies includes 14 circles, the largest of which is 6 inches in diameter. Perfect if you are a scrapbooker too.

Of course I had to add a few adhesive backed sequins. Best embellishment ever!!!

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Andrea Sargent. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head back to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope you are inspired to start your Christmas card making and I that you will visit again next Monday for more Christmas ideas and fun.

In the meantime, if you would like a copy of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Michele.

Love the idea of splitting the die cut foliage in half. Michele your berries are perfect and agree those adhesive backed sequins are a fave here too!

  2. Kate Morgan

Ah, very clever use of those dies, Michele. We sure will get our monies worth out of these products. You’ve showed some more fantatic ways to use those dies. Great card!

  3. Theresa Gerrard

Great card Michele and I love how you have split the die behind the sentiment and the additional pine needles is a good idea. The sentiment looks great in the Deckled Circle too.

  4. Andrea Sargent

A beautiful card Michele. I love the central bordered strip of DSP with the die cut sprays on each end. Love it. The berries are delightful too. xxx

  5. Judy May

A beautiful card in traditional Christmas colours, Michelle and a great way to use the decorative label from the Christmas Classics bundle.

  6. CHRISTINE BLAIN

I love it, Michele … and have been having similar ideas for using those gorgeous dies. I love your choice of DSP and sentiment. The berries look fab – they really stood out, as soon as I saw your card. I think you’re being altogether too hard on yourself! Deckled Circles are the perfect choice of dies for your sentiment. Great card, my friend.

  7. Claire Daly

Fabulous design Michele. I’m a big fan of the classic Christmas colours and that bundle. Those embellishments are a huge fave of mine too 🙂
