Heart of Christmas – Week 5 2023

Welcome to the 2023 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Each Monday, through until mid December, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have to offer. This year we will be working with Christmas products found in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, those on offer as an Online Exclusive and once our preorders arrive……new products from the upcoming Sept-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue. My cards today offer a sneak peek of the Joy To You stamp set, A Walk in the Forest DSP and the Joy of Christmas DSP. Both DSP paper packs are beautiful and the B-sides so versatile. Who doesn’t love a Christmas check or stripe?

my cards:

As well as the Joy To You stamp set my cards also feature the Trucking Along bundle, which is an Online Exclusive.

I used this bundle in my Week 2 post, which you can read here. In the post I talked about my grandfather’s green ute, nicknamed Emma. Well, today Emma makes an appearance on one of my cards.

The Joy To You stamp set is one of my favourites from the new mini catalogue, as I absolutely love to use big, clean sentiments as the focal point on the front of a card. I am also a bit of a font nerd and the size, weight, kerning, leading and tracking used in these fabulous sentiments is pretty well perfect. Here I have used the ‘tape’ trick to colour the sentiment in different colours. Just remember to remove the tape after you have inked up your selected words. Ask me how I know that!!! 🙂

While I had the stamp positioner all set up I thought I would do a second card.

The truck was punched several times and then glued one on top of each other to create a dimensional piece. I used the Deckled Rectangles to diecut the focal panel before adding……you guessed it……the adhesive backed sequins as a finishing touch.

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Tina Gillespie. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head back to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope you are inspired to start your Christmas card making and I that you will visit again next Monday for more Christmas ideas and fun.

In the meantime, if you would like a copy of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue and/or the Sept-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop them in the post for you.

Michele.

So clean and simple, Michele, I love this design. I’m so glad Emma made an appearance – that ute looks great in any colours!

  2. Theresa Gerrard

Great clean and crisp cards Michele. Great to see Emma back again. Your cards are definitely tempting me to add that sentiment stamp to my next order.

  3. Judy May

Absolutely love the bright, fresh, clean style of your cards, Michele. The bold greetings work perfectly with the cute truck and I love the 2 colour combos.

  4. Andrea Sargent

Wonderful cards Michele. I so love your two colour sentiments. Yes the Joy to You set is a must have stamp set – which will be on my next order. It was so good to meet Emma again this week, together with her red companion. The layers of punched out trucks give special solid dimension. xxx

I love your Emma cards Michele, ha ha, I know exactly what you mean about removing masks from stamps…..

    1. Rosa Leyden

Michele I love both your cards with the simple stamped Deckled panels which tie in beautifully with the colours in the DSP. And nice to see Emma make an appearance!

  6. Kate Morgan

These are lovely, Michele. The bright and bold Designer Paper choices are the perfect backgrounds for your Christmas Trucking Along utes. I agree, these large sentiments are brilliant and so great for using in multiple colours as you have shown.

  7. CHRISTINE BLAIN

I love that Emma has made an appearance on one of your gorgeous cards, Michele! I also love those gorgeous big sentiments (that stamp set was a must-have for me, too), and appreciate your description of the font qualities. I love fonts, and I love words, and I’d not heard of kerning. Beautiful use of lovely festive papers, colours, and awesome sequins, my friend.
