AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop | Week 13 – Crumb Cake

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team, Colour Creations Blog Hop, for 2021-2022. Each week members of the team will showcase a current colour (in alphabetical order) from the extensive Stampin’ Up! range.

Week 13: Crumb Cake

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Crumb Cake!

You will find a number of products in both the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue that feature Crumb Cake including – Classic Stampin’ Pad, cardstock, ink refill, Stampin’ Blends, Neutrals Designer Series Paper pack, Neutrals Stampin’ Write Markers, Whimsy & Wonder DSP and Painted Christmas DSP.

But my favourite product to feature the colour Crumb Cake is……

This paper is glorious and ever so versatile.

My cards:

Two of my cards feature designer series paper from Harvest Meadow and my third showcases the gorgeous bundle, Nature’s Harvest, that you can purchase as part of the Harvest Meadow suite collection.

Card no. 1:

After masking off a section of my Basic White panel I stamped it twice using the ‘blobby’ stamp from the bundle.

Then, using a blending brush, I applied some Crumb Cake around the edges of the masked off section. I diecut two of the Echinacea silhouettes and glued them together for a little dimension, before adhering them to my completed panel. The matt is Bumblebee, the card base Crumb Cake and the sentiment is from the Artistically Inked stamp set.

card no. 2:

When I looked at this lovely paper from the Harvest Meadow collection I immediately thought of Christmas. I stamped the dotty tree and greeting onto my tag before adding a Christmas tree which was diecut using a die from the Whimsical Trees set.

I diecut two of the trees. One in Crumb Cake and a second in Soft Suede. I glued them together, but slightly askew, in order to form a shadow line. The ornament and matt are Real Red and for a bit of bling I ‘painted’ the ornaments with Wink of Stellar. The stars were diecut from Be Dazzling specialty paper using the stitched star dies from the Give It A Whirl set.

cards 3 & 4:

When I hear that a friend is expecting a baby or is about to become a grandparent I like to send a small gift. My go to is one of the gorgeous soft rattles that my local little gift shop sells. They are beautiful, but my favourite by far is the lamb. I have bought countless of them over the years.

And then, when I saw this beautiful paper I immediately thought of spring lambs frolicking in meadows of blossom. 🙂 I mean, how beautiful is this paper?

So an idea was hatched and my baby cards were created and I love them.

This one features Crumb Cake and Pool Party and the one below Crumb Cake and Polished Pink.

The sheep stamps and the matching dies are Sale-A-Bration items and are not to be missed.

Wow you have been busy. I really love the Christmas card and I hadn’t noticed that side of the DSP but you’ve used it beautifully.

  2. Tina Gillespie

You were definitely inspired by Crumb Cake! Your cards are all so wonderful, but I especially love the Christmas card. It’s gorgeous!

  3. Caroline Manwaring

Three terrific Crumb Cake cards Michele. I particularly love the Christmas and sheep ones.

  4. Andrea Sargent

Oh Michele – such gorgeous cards. Love each one. Your baby cards are brilliant and go so well with the gift. Xxx

  5. Rosa Leyden

Loving all your cards Michele are just stunning and how cuuuute are the lambs? Love them! You’ve used the DSP for very different occasions and it is versatile. I can’t choose which is my favourite but leaning towards the Christmas one.

  6. Rachel Palmieri

No favourites for me, I love them all and I’ve certainly learned to look at all these products differently. That blobby stamp looks very useful, and I love the way you’ve used it on that card. Who knew about the spotty trees till you shared them? As for the sheep for baby cards, how perfect paired with those soft rattles and the paper is a lovely background for them.

  7. Ros Davidson

I love how different all 3 of your crumb cake cards are. They are all gorgeous but my favourite is the nature’s harvest bundle.

  8. Kate Morgan

Haha, your terminology ‘blobby’ made me laugh! I love all of these cards and cannot choose a favourite; they are all fabulous in their own way. I love the stars and baubles on your double die cut Whimsy tree. Real Red is awesome with Crumb Cake. The baby cards are very cute with that spring paper and the hearts are the perfect accent.

  9. CHRISTINE BLAIN

All such beautiful cards, Michele! My favourite is your first card. I love the stamping and ink blending in the masked off panel, and the addition of the flower with lovely embossed detail. Your Christmas card is gorgeous, and has me looking at these products in a new light. I hadn’t considered that beautiful paper to look Christmassy, but now see strings of lights/tinsel in it … perfect for the addition of some sparkly stars. I also hadn’t thought of stamping the dotty tree, then placing a die-cut tree (or two) over the top; love it! Whilst I’m not a fan of those sheep, I love your baby cards, and love how prominent the blossoms look, now that you mention it! I’d really only noticed the twiggy branch patterns.
You’ve done a stellar job of showing off Crumb Cake this week.

  10. Catherine Proctor

Oh Michelle, the “blobby” stamp – just love it! But seriously all your cards are fantastic. I love that paper too but feel slightly intimidated using it – you have inspired me to crack it open and use it on a card.

  11. Rachel Woollard

Wow, three different but all beautiful card Michele. I love them all
