AWHT Heart of Christmas – September

Welcome to the 2020 edition of the Heart of Christmas showcase brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a monthly basis.

For September I am again using products that can be found in the gorgeous August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue. There is just so much to like in this mini catalogue. Click on the catalogue below to view all the gorgeous goodies for yourself.

All three of my cards feature my favourite bundle from the catalogue……

I absolutely love the graphic nature of this bundle and its contemporary feel, however don’t be fooled, as it works really well on the more traditional card as well.

All of my cards also feature……

I love 6″ x 6″ paper packs and find them just so easy to work with. This paper pack has an extensive colour palette with an Autumn feel about it. I do like a plaid design, especially if it is on the diagonal, as it suits my square card designs. To be honest though I am not in love with every paper in this pack, but fortunately they are all double-sided. 🙂 What I do like about it though is, that the papers vary from neutral to very bright, therefore catering for a range of occasions, including Christmas!!!

card no. 1:

My first card is a wreath design……who knew!!! 🙂 It features all three of the leaf images. I stamped them using colours from the piece of plaid paper I had decided to use and a neutral to match the card base. This is actually my favourite piece of paper from the pack and I am down to by last piece. 🙁

I stamped to word JOY directly onto my stitched circle before adding the remaining part of the greeting with dimensionals. Of course I had to use a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels……which reminds me that I need to order some more.

card no. 2:

My second card is super simple. Because I used the very neutral plaid as my feature matt, I was able to combine it with Night of Navy, Real Red and gold. The leaves were diecut and embossed using dies from the Poinsettia dies set. The ‘to the world’ image was stamped directly onto the plaid paper and of course there were a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels added at the end. Just a little note: The stamps in this set are photopolymer and therefore they are extremely easy to line up, so stamping directly onto the plaid paper was a breeze.

card no. 3:

This card is a brighter version of one I created using more traditional colours for the AWHT Colour Creations Showcase Week 15 – Early Espresso. The colour palette was dictated by the piece of plaid paper and I simply challenged myself to use it to make a Christmas card.

Thank you for joining me this month and I hope to see you back here for the October Heart of Christmas showcase.

I cannot pick a favourite either! They are all wonderful and I think I will be CASEing them all!

  2. Diane Furniss

All Beautiful Michelle, please don’t ask me to choose just one.

  3. Caroline Manwaring

Gosh Michele, I certainly can’t pick a favourite from your fantastic cards – I love all three! So much inspiration I see from the Plaid DSP, which I absolutely love, out of the two catalogues it’s my favourite DSP.

  4. Kate Morgan

Great cards Michele, your use of the Plaid DSP is fantastic. I am struggling with it, so this is great inspiration. I especially love your last blue card, maybe it is the Bright that stretches across the entire front of the card!

  5. Sue Madex

Ooh you might be winning me over to that plaid paper – looks fab with your cards. I love how you arrange your rhinestones and other sparkles.

  6. Andrea Sargent

Your three cards a gorgeous. I love your use of the Peace and Joy bundle together with the Plaid DSP. Your wreath card is beautiful – you are amazing at stamping in the round. I love your Joy card, but the Bright card is also delightful. xxx

I love your cards with the plaid Michele, and maybe card 3 might be a favourite if I had to choose. This stamp and die bundle is such a good one, isn’t it?

  9. Catherine Proctor

Wow Michele, I can’t chose between these beautiful cards but I do have a soft spot for your wreath cards. Great use of the plaid paper BTW!

  10. Judy May

A lovely trio of cards, Michele. I’m a fan of the Plaid Tidings DSP – just so flexible for lots of occasions. Your trademark wreath is fabulous and I love the bright, non traditional colour combo of the ‘merry and bright’ card.

  11. CHRISTINE BLAIN

I just love your use of colour on these beautiful cards, Michele. Great use of Plaid Tidings DSP, and the fun Peace & Joy bundle. Love your work!
