AWHT Colour Creations Showcase – Daffodil Delight

Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.

Week 14: Daffodil Delight

Daffodil Delight is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Brights collection…….and is a bright, clear, medium yellow. There are several Daffodil Delight products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends, Ruched Ribbon and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Brights Assortment.

Daffodil Delight is just one of the many colours used in the colourful Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper. This DSP has a rich, bright colour palette and features sweeping brushstrokes and beautifully blended colour gradients.

my card:

My card features the smallest flower image from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set. This stamp set is one of Stampin’ Up!’s Distinktive™ range. The light and shade you are able to achieve with just one ink pad colour is fantastic. I do find that Distinctive™ stamps work best when your ink pad is not too juicy.

The floral panel was created by stamping and then stamping again, before re-inking my stamp. I continued until the entire panel was covered in flowers, before using the ‘splatter’ stamp from the Whale Done stamp set and Sahara Sand ink to fill in any areas that were looking a little ‘barren’.

Using the the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder, I created all over texture before adhering the embossed panel to a matt of Daffodil Delight cardstock. The corner feature was made using the lovely filigree die from the Fabulous Florals set of dies and a triangular piece of Whisper White cardstock, the diagonal of which, was cut to follow the lines created by the embossing folder. Hopefully the close up below helps to illustrate this better. 🙂

The sentiment is from my favourite stamp set for greetings, Many Mates and it was diecut using the small banner die from Tasteful Labels and the sprig of ‘greenery’ is from the Forever Flourishing set of dies. The completed panel was then adhered to a standard sized Sahara Sands card base.

I do enjoy creating my own ‘patterned paper’ and I love how an embossing folder adds so much interest and texture to a piece of cardstock.

Stunning card Michele. I had Sahara Sand out on my desk and then didn’t end up using it. It is perfect on your cards. I am very excited about that filigree corner – I just got that bundle in the mail about a week ago and hadn’t even see the dies yet! Yayy!

Oh, Michele, this is beautiful! I love the bloom-filled background, with splatters to fill space. I love that you’ve used the gorgeous Dainty Diamonds embossing folder, and cut the corner piece of your card to fit beautifully along the embossed lines. The die cut details are beautiful touches. *Sigh*!
