AWHT Colour Creations Showcase – Mint Macaron

Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.

Week 27: Mint Macaron

Mint Macaron is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Subtles collection…….and is a soft minty green. There are several Mint Macaron products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends, Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Subtles Assortment.

My cards:

For my cards today I used a very subtle colour palette of……

When creating my cards I started with the designer series paper which is Mint Macaron and gold foil. It is from the gorgeous Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.

While one side of each piece features sweet floral patterns, the other is a solid colour with a fine all over design, most of which are gold foiled. This paper is truly one of those ones that is so much nicer in real life. I love its vintage vibe!!!

Another absolutely gorgeous paper that includes Mint Macaron in its colour palette is……

This is one of my favourite DSP collections from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue. The neutral colour palette, subtle designs and gold and copper foiling make this a must have. But, it is only available until 4 January……so don’t miss out!

card no. 1:

My first card features the beautiful and elegant stag from the North Pole Wonder dies. The trees were cut from Mint Macaron cardstock using a die from the Majestic Mountain set and the background was embossed using the Woodland embossing folder.

I added some gold metallic thread, a sentiment which I stamped onto Shimmery White cardstock and some Gilded Gems and my card was complete. This really is such a simple card but lovely designer series paper with a touch of shine, an embossed background for texture and lots and lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals for dimension make it look so much more. The diecut stag, gold thread and gems are just the icing on the cake!!!

card no. 2:

My second card features the same colour palette with the introduction of Whisper White, DSP, thread and gems.

While I was looking at the piece of DSP I had in my hand, I was reminded of the lovely ornament stamps from the returning fave……Christmas Gleaming. The gold swirls in the paper look very similar to the swirls on the ornaments. I love it when products coordinate so well, don’t you? The sentiment is from the Joyful Holly stamp set and the ribbon is a sneak peek of a new product available soon. It is a soft linen ribbon with gold thread woven through it. Because it is so soft it is very easy to work with and ties lovely bows.

Thanks for visiting but, there is so much more to see. Please hop back to Catherine’s blog where you will find links to all the other team members and their Mint Macaron creations.

Two lovely cards but I love the freshness and elegance of the second card.

Michelle both your cards are stunning but I love, love, love the Woodland embossed crumb cake sitting behind the elegant deer on your first card. Thank you for inspiring us all with your Mint Macaron Creations this week xx

Two lovely cards, Michele. The DSP pattern works so beautifully on both cards. I actually had this pattern in mind for my card but changed my idea in the end. Mint Macaron looks so lovely along side Crumb Cake.

  4. Kate Morgan

Lovely colours, Michele, and I love that you changed up the tones with those ornaments, it is very elegant. Love the Woodland TIEF with the stag too!

  5. Kathryn

I’m in love with the Gilded Autumn Paper too. I wish they would carry it over so we can use it in autumn! Lovely cards Michele, Crumb Cake was the perfect colour to add!

  6. Tina Gillespie

Your cards are wonderful, but I especially love the second card. The DSP and the ornaments work together so well!

  7. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Such a pretty colour combination, Michele. I especially love the tree theming on your first card; those die cut trees look beautiful in Mint Macaron! The addition of white to your second card really freshens up the palette; very elegant. Lovely work, as always.
