Week 42 AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop – Real Red

Another week has flown by and it’s time for the next AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are showcasing Real Red which is a vibrant and crisp shade of red. However, as a non lover of the colour red, unless it is associated with Christmas, I had trouble coming up with an idea until I simply decided to create a Christmas card, using a non Christmas stamp set.

Using my trusty Stamparatus I stamped a partial wreath using the solid leaf stamp. I filled in the ‘hole’ in the wreath with one of the flowers before layering it with another flower stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock and punched out using the matching ‘must have’ punch. The greeting is from the Mistletoe Season stamp set and the designer series paper used as the larger matt is Under the Mistletoe. A red rhinestone was added to the centre of the flower and I curled up the petals using my bone folder in order to add some dimension.

I absolutely love this bundle. It is very pretty and just so versatile as it can be used when creating cards for a number of occasions and reasons. I know that Sale-A-Bration is over but with so many lovely bundles like this available in the Annual and Occasions Catalogues there are still plenty of reasons to indulge in our second favourite hobby – collecting craft supplies. 🙂

Beautiful card Michele, I love your wreath cards and even though it’s early I think using this set for a Christmas card is just perfect. I would never have thought about it, but I will now. Thanks for showing us how versatile this set it.

Great card Michele – it is never to early to prepare for Christmas. I love how you use the Stamparatus to create your wreaths – I really must look at learning this technique.
