AWHT Creative Showcase for October – DSP

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Creative Showcase for the month of October. This month the team has created projects that feature Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers (DSP). And even better…..this month Stampin’ Up! are offering a 15% discount on select Designer Series Paper. MOST of my absolutely favourite paper packs from both the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue and August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue are included in the sale. Click on the image below to view a PDF that details a full list of the products available.

So NOW is the time to stock up!!! Especially with Christmas fast approaching and Christmas Card making in full swing. This year more than ever…..we should be sending cards to our family and friends…..and the lady down the street you haven’t bumped into all year and the teachers who have worked so hard to educate our children under very difficult circumstances and…..I could go on, but you get it. Send cards this Christmas!!!

My cards:

My cards were all made using the Trimming the Town DSP and the coordinating dies, Home Together. There is no stamping what so ever on any of these cards, with the greetings being cut from the DSP as well. Aren’t the little houses absolutely adorable? The dies can be purchased as part of a bundle with the coordinating stamp set, Coming Home. The Coming Home bundle is available at a discount of 10% and is a must have for this festive season. Pair it with the DSP at a 15% discount and you will be set as there are just so many possibilities with these products.

Card no. 1:

I layered up two of the houses to make a cute double fronted home and also added a couple of trees and a Christmas wreath to create my little scene. The large Misty Moonlight matt was embossed using the Subtle embossing folder. I also misted the greeting, trees and wreath with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to add some festive shine.

Card no. 2:

I used another of the gorgeous little houses to create this card. I use a variation of this card design often as it is a great way to feature designer series papers. The greeting, which is cut from the DSP, is again misted with Shimmer Paint, as is the wreath which was attached to the house using a Stampin’ dimensional. I also sponged the edges of both pieces of the DSP and of the greeting as I am not a fan of the cut white edges.

card no. 3:

This is my favourite of my three cards. The tag I used here is from the retired Bonanza die set however, the gorgeous tag that can be found in the North Pole Wonder dies set would work beautifully. Unfortunately, when I made these cards I had not received my order containing the new die set. I die cut several of the wreaths from the background piece of DSP before misting them with Shimmer Paint and adhering them back in their spot using a Stampin’ dimensional. The edge of the DSP matt is sponged with Pool Party to match the Pool Party matt behind it. The Pool Party sheer ribbon is from the Whale of a Time Suite of products.

Designer Series Paper makes creating a beautiful card so easy, especially if there is a set of dies that cut out the coordinating images. So whether you want something neutral and versatile like the In Good Taste DSP, bright and cheery like Playing With Patterns or festive like Poinsettia Place, there is a designer series paper to suit your style and crafting needs.

Thanks for visiting but, there is so much more to see in this month’s AWH Team Creative Showcase. Please hop back to Rachel’s blog where you will find links to all the other team members and their gorgeous creations.

Ooooh, I adore your cards! So CAS, and elegant. I love how you’ve added the banner under the sentiment on the first – I will be using that idea! The second is another great way to use the sentiment DSP as a whole piece. I have struggles with the wreath DSP that you’ve used on your third card, but I love this idea. I can see some CASEing in my future!

  2. Caroline Manwaring

Michele, I love all three of your cards so much I’m placing an order for the DSP as soon as I’ve finished commenting on everyone’s blogs. I already have the Coming Home Bundle, and now I’ll have the DSP to go with it. Your cards are all gorgeous, and I may just have to CASE them, with your permission of course.

  3. Sharon Davern
