Heart of Christmas Blog Hop – Week 16

December is HERE!!! And sadly we have come to Week 16, the final week of our Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.

For my final cards I am featuring the Toile Tidings DSP. This was definitely not on my initial wish list of items to purchase as I am not a fan of snowy Christmas scenes. However, the colours and the stripe, check and holly patterns eventually won me over.

My first two cards are simple designs. I used the DSP to make banners. These were then adhered to standard notecards.

Card One:

On the Garden Green card I used the holly stamp from Christmas Gleaming to stamp the background. I also used the berry stamp from Tidings All Around and Delicata Gold ink to add a little shine to the background. The sentiment is my favourite from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. I love this banner greeting. A few ‘sprigs’ of gold foil and lots of dimensionals and card one was complete.

Card Two:

For the second card I used the Tufted embossing folder to add texture to the matt before adding the banners of DSP. The greeting is from Peaceful Boughs and was attached with some braided linen thread. On this card I used some gold thread and gold glitter enamel dots to add the glitz……and of course a stack of dimensionals.

One thing I did do was ink the edges of the DSP. I found that the DSP has a white core and by inking the edges this was alleviated. I like the effect. It adds to the more traditional country feel of the paper.

Card 3:

And then because I was on a roll and had a few bits and pieces still lying about on my desk, I made a third card. Of course it had to be a square card. I used the small scalloped die from Stitiched Be Mine to diecut strips of the striped paper to add to each side of the holly panel. Again, I inked all the edges of the DSP. I adhered the DSP as shown below and then piled up three diecut wreaths. One in each colour, Shimmery White, Real Red and Garden Green. The card is Shimmery White and the greeting was stamped onto a scrap of Shimmery White with Garden Green using my second favourite greeting from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. For the glitz on this one I added some red rhinestones to the wreath.
