Heart of Christmas – Week 7 2023

Welcome to the 2023 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Each Monday, through until mid December, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have to offer. This year will be working with Christmas products found in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, those on offer as an Online Exclusive and new products from the Sept-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue.

my card:

This week’s card uses a number of products from the Joy of Christmas suite collection.

I fell in love with this entire suite and it was one of the first things that I purchased. It is very traditional in design and colour palette. My favourite element from the entire suite are the sentiments in the Christmas Classic stamp set. The fonts are fabulous and I love that you can mix and match to create your own sentiments, which is perfect for when you want to use more than one colour. I particularly love the sentiment ‘Deck the Halls’ and am always drawn to stamp sets that include this oldie but a goodie.

This card design is also an oldie but a goodie and is one that I use often. You can see a couple of other examples here and here. After making up the kits for my recent card class I was left with lots and lots of strips of this beautiful designer series paper. After creating my focal panel I embossed it with the Christmas Tidings embossing folder. This fabulous folder could be missed in the new mini catalogue as it is tucked away on page 33.

The finished panel was matted with Real Red cardstock before being adhered to a Cherry Cobbler card base. The greeting was stamped using Pebbled Path ink and diecut using one of the Deckled Circles dies. I tucked a couple of pine needles diecuts behind the sentiment before attaching it with dimensionals and of course what would a card be without some adhesive backed sequins. They are the embellishment of the season!!!

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Tina Gillespie. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head back to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope you are inspired to start your Christmas card making and I that you will visit again next Monday for more Christmas ideas and fun.

In the meantime, if you would like a copy of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Michele.

Such a gorgeous card, Michele. The deep colour of your Cherry Cobbler card base really helps to pop the mix of DSP strips! I just think those traditional colours are so beautiful, along with the different patterns and sentiment circle. Just lovely!

  2. Judy May

Beautiful card, Michele. The red check paper has a real 3D look in the first photo (maybe it is just me, lol). The layout is fabulous for making the most of this beautiful paper.

  3. Tina Gillespie

I love this so much! It’s a great way to use those pesky strips we all end up with, and embossing the panel is next level!

  4. Kate Morgan

I love that background, Michele. Those strips of DSP and then dry embossed is just gorgeous. A great way to use those leftover strips from your previous projects.

  5. Theresa Gerrard

I also love that suite of products as I love traditional Christmas colours. What a great way to use up all of those paper scraps and then to dry emboss it gives a lovely dimension.

  6. Andrea Sargent

I so love your card Michele. It is a brilliant way to use up left over strips of DSP and embossing the strip panel with the Christmas Tidings EF ties it together. The deckled circle and pine fronds finish it off brilliantly. xxx

  7. Rachel Woollard

Great way to use up your paper scraps Michele. Embossing the whole piece with the Christmas Tidings embossing folder really ties it together.

  8. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Oh, wow! That background is spectacular, Michele! I love all the detail provided by the different patterned papers … and the dry-embossing just takes it to the next level. I really like your choice of Pebbled Path ink for the sentiment. Such a lovely complement to the bold coloured papers. Gorgeous card!
