Heart of Christmas | More Gingerbread & Peppermint

Welcome to the 2021 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

my cards:

A couple of the lovely ladies who attend my classes spoke of needing quick and simple Christmas cards. While they also love to make ‘keepsake’ cards there is a time when the number of cards required, outweighs the time available and to an extent the budget.

So, as I browsed through the July-August 2021 Mini Catalogue, I searched for that suite of products that might just meet the brief, and I settled on……

While my cards only feature the Frosted Gingerbread bundle and the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP, the suite is worth considering as it provides you with everything you need for your Christmas crafting. There is the Memories and More card pack which can be used when scrapbooking your Christmas memories and the cutest little pillow box die that can be used for gift giving.

Each year I like to make Christmas bonbonnieres as table decorations. I fill my bonbonniere with lollies or chocolates and there is always one for everyone to take home. I try to look for something different each year and this year might just be a sweet little pillow box. They would also be perfect for the universal voucher, “cash” or a gift card. I even thought that you could make 25 of them, pop a small chocolate in them, number them, hang them on the Christmas tree and voila……you have your advent calendar and Christmas decorations all rolled into one.

card no.1:

The Gingerbread & Peppermint designer series paper is a 6″ x 6″ pack containing 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs. This is perfect when you need to make lots of cards. The panel was cut from a piece of DSP and the ornament diecut from another piece. I used some of the Kraft paper, also part of the suite, to diecut the scalloped circle and the sentiment is from the Christmas to Remember stamp set.

Don’t forget to stamp a coordinating image on your envelope. It adds a really nice finishing touch.

card no.2:

My second card uses another piece of DSP and another diecut. For added interest I added the scalloped diecut rectangle.

Using a suite of products means making coordinated cards is so very easy. I love that the ornament on card 1 and snowflake on card 2 match the respective designer series papers. I have made 20 plus cards using this suite so far and I still have heaps of paper left to make quite a few more.
