Heart of Christmas | A Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the 2021 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

My cards:

Last week in honour of World Card Making Day on Saturday 2 October, I set the ladies in my class Facebook group, a sketch challenge.

In the lead up to the weekend I posted a card to the group each day, as additional inspiration.

Then on WCMD I posted a video in which I made my fifth and final card (not a Christmas card, so not shown here). The ladies were encouraged to craft along. The feedback has been fabulous with more than 20 cards being posted to the group by the members. Everyone really got into the swing of things and happily commented on each other’s cards, offering encouragement and support. They have really missed card making together. It was such a success, I would consider additional group challenges in the future.

card no.1:

My first card, which is my favourite, features the Evergreen Elegance bundle and the Wintry embossing folder. I LOVE Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent and they are perfect for stamping these more traditional style Christmas trees.

card no.2:

For card number 2 I used the Sweet Little Stockings bundle and the coordinating designer series paper Sweet Stockings. I really like this large stitched die and can see myself using it on lots of cards.

card no.3:

Whimsy & Wonder was the focal suite for card number 3. It is a little hard to see in the photo but the Mint Macaron garland on my Mossy Meadow tree has been painted with Wink of Stella for that added bit of sparkle.

card no.4:

And, for my final card I used products from the Painted Christmas suite. I brushed over the stamped red berries with my Wink of Stella for some glitz and glamour. It is a very pretty card in real life. I love all shades of green so this designer series paper really appeals to me. It is just so easy to create lovely cards when you are working with such beautifully coordinated products and colours.

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Catherine Proctor. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of Tina Gillespie who is this week’s host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by this week. I hope to see you back here next Monday, when the team will have more of their inspiration and wonderful creations to share with you.

In the meantime if you would like a copy of either the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue or the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Michele.

Oh my goodness, what a smorgasbord of beautiful cards, Michele! The first one is my standout favourite, too … for the same reason as it is yours. I love how you’ve used this sketch to create such different-looking cards, and by using SU! products so beautifully. I love them all!
