AWHT Colour Creations Showcase – Pretty Peacock

Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.

Week 37: Pretty Peacock

Pretty Peacock is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2021 In Colors collection…….and is a dark teal green. There are several Pretty Peacock products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends, Scalloped Linen Ribbon and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Neutrals Assortment.

As one of the 2019-2021 In Colors, Pretty Peacock will be retiring at the end of April. So it is time to ensure that you have enough cardstock on hand for future crafting projects and of course don’t forget to purchase the reinker. Just a word of warning……reinkers tend to sell out very quickly one the retiring list is released.

my cards:

My cards today showcase an exclusive and early release product, Butterfly Bouquet. These products will be available from 2 March until 3 May 2021 and while the stamps and dies will feature in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue, the designer series paper and specialty paper will ONLY be available while stocks last.

The 6″ x 6″ designer series paper pack is gorgeous and a must have!!! And the fact that the large dies cuts out images on one of the sheets is fantastic. I love it when Stampin’ Up! do that.

Both cards feature butterflies stamped and diecut from one of the patterned papers in the designer series pack.

Card no.: 1

My first card uses two of the stamped butterflies and the coordinating filigree butterfly diecuts. I added gold pearls and the very cute tag and sentiment are from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set.

Card no.: 2

My second card showcases the largest stamped butterfly. I double embossed the wide strip of Pretty Peacock cardstock, a technique a learnt from the lovely Caroline Manwaring. Using the Subtle embossing folder I ran the paper through one way, turned the paper strip 90 degrees and ran it through again. By doing this you achieve a fabulous linen look. Thanks Caroline.

This perfect little greeting is from the Art Gallery stamp set. This is fast becoming my go-to for sentiments as I absolutely love the font. I diecut the sentiment strip with another favourite. This wonderful die can be found in the All Dressed Up set of dies.

Lovely cards you made with the new products suite.

  2. Caroline Manwaring

Both gorgeous cards, Michele! Although, if forced to choose a favourite, it would go to card #2. I just LOVE that big, bold and beautiful butterfly on that crisp white circle!!! There I go with my love of white space again!

  3. Theresa Gerrard

I too have been resisting this bundle but the cards you have created may just win me over. The gold pearls and the vellum on the first card are an effective addition.

  4. Tina Gillespie

Your cards are both so pretty! I’m trying so hard to resist the butterflies, but my resolve is fast crumbling! I especially love your second card – the colours are gorgeous, and I love the strip for the sentiment.

  5. Claire Daly

Fabulous cards! I’m just loving this new suite we have to play with and your cards are so pretty.

  6. Kate Morgan

Oh my goodness, so beautiful. I don’t know how much longer I can resist this suite, you are making it very hard!

  7. Sharon Davern

OOH! I was so trying to resist this bundle of gorgeousness but now you have made it so hard! Ok Extremely hard. I get every butterfly stamp set and bundle that comes out and not this one well I was trying to resist but it is futile! I love your cards! They are beautiful!

  8. Kathryn Ruddick

I was planning to use exactly the same products today, but clean ran out of time. I love what you have made!

  9. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Beautiful use of Pretty Peacock, Michele. Thanks for sharing your lovely projects with the new bundle of products (that I am, for the moment at least, resisting!).

  10. Catherine Proctor

Oh these are fantastic cards Michelle – I love the monotone colour scheme and the clean, crisp design! Thank you for sharing your pretty peacock projects with us tonight in the Colour Creations Showcase.
