Heart of Christmas | Painted Christmas

Welcome to the 2021 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

My cards:

My love for the Painted Christmas mega suite on pages 16 to 19 of the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue knows no bounds!!! 🙂

I used it again when creating my cards for today. Not only are the images and designer series paper beautiful, the stamp sets and coordinating sets of dies are stunning. I particularly love the pine needles die in the Pinecone set of dies and use it often in my clusters.

card no.1:

I used my Stamparatus and the stamp and rotate 180 degrees method for my stamped panel. This ensures that you stamp two identical clusters. I did add a few Real Red dots ‘freehand’ both full strength and stamped off.

The greeting was diecut using one of the many label dies in the set, before being attached to the stamped panel with dimensionals. I did include a piece of the pine needles diecut and a double bow of linen thread behind my panel. Three clusters of Real Red rhinestones were the finishing touch.

I matted the completed panel with Soft Succulent cardstock and a piece of DSP before adhering it to a standard card base. I did stamp the envelope to match.

card no.2:

Card two uses another beautiful piece of DSP and the larger label die. I started by simply stamping a cluster on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I tried to mimic the clusters in the DSP.

When I was happy with my stamped cluster I positioned the die and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine ensuring that some of the image ‘ran off’ the edges.

I attached the diecut panel to the DSP using dimensionals but of course had to include a sprig or two of pine needles behind it. The sentiment is matted with a scalloped circle of gold Brushed Metallic cardstock and I added some Gilded Gems before adhering it all to a standard card base of Real Read.

There are just so many possibilities with this suite and I still have so many other ideas to try. Alas, too many ideas and so little time!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Your cards are amazing. I love how on card two you have mimicked the DSP and the colours you have used on card one are so bright and lush.

  2. Theresa Gerrard

Two beautiful cards Michele. My favourite is definitely the second one as I love how you have mimicked the DSP on the die cut panel

  3. Tina Gillespie

Oh, wow, your cards are incredible! I thought your stamping was actually DSP – it looks amazing!

  4. Caroline Manwaring

These two cards are really gorgeous Michele. I love them both, but the stamped foliage and berry arrangement on Card 1 is so lovely. The pops of red are beautiful on both cards and I really like the small scalloped gold foil circle behind the Joy sentiment.

  5. Rosa Leyden

Such beautiful stamping in both your cards Michele and love the positioning of the sentiments and rhinestones and gems. I especially love your second card!

  6. Catherine Proctor

Michele these cards are both simply stunning – you really have showcased this beautiful christmas suite beautifully!

  7. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Such strikingly beautiful cards, Michele. The colour combination (especially the greens you’ve used together) on your first card is a bit unexpected, but gorgeous!! I like that you’ve teamed bold colours with muted ones. The second card is reminiscent of cards from the 1950s … so elegant. Love the gold accents.

  8. Kate Morgan

Both gorgeous cards, Michele, but I adore the one with the pine cones – I think it is the extra white space of the label and stamping to one side. I love this suite too!
