Holiday Catalogue – Sneak Peak 2

Time for another 2019 Holiday Catalogue SNEAK PEAK. In my earlier post I introduced the Peaceful Boughs bundle and the Wrapped in Plaid designer series paper.

Today’s card again uses both along with a few other new goodies. I created a very simple wreath design using the smaller pinecone stamp. I then diecut the small pinecone from Soft Suede and Early Expresso cardstock and the mid-sized bough from Shaded Spruce. I attached a small amount of gold thread to the back of the pinecone and then attached both the bough and pinecone to the card in place of one of the stamped pinecones. (I am so glad that I ordered another spool of gold thread before it was retired as it works perfectly with the ‘gold thread’ in the Wrapped in Plaid DSP.)

The sentiment and berry group are from the new Tidings All Around stamp set. The finished panel was matted with a piece of the Wrapped in Plaid DSP and then attached to a square Night of Navy note card. I added a Real Red Curly Ribbon bow and the card was complete.

Just a note about the curly ribbon. The first couple of bows I tied with this trim were a mess. The ends frayed so badly that the entire ‘curly’ effect was lost. At a bit of a loss I returned to the catalogue to study some of the samples and I noticed that the ends had been knotted. Viola!!! Problems solved.

My second card is not a Christmas card. I made it for my beloved Dad for Father’s Day. The plaid designer series paper is perfect for masculine cards. I added a strip to an embossed panel and then added some greenery and a sentiment using the Well Said stamp set and Well Written dies. A small piece of gingham ribbon was tucked behind a Stitched Nested Label which was attached to the card with Stamping Dimensionals.

If you would like to purchase any of the products used in the making of these cards please follow the links to my online shop. Just remember that the links to the Peaceful Boughs bundle, Tidings All Around Stamp Set and Wrapped in Plaid DSP don’t go live until 4 September.

Please check back later in the week for another sneak peek.

Thanks Michele.
