Mix and Match on a Monday – Winter Woods meets Hometown Greetings

While I have only been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator since July I have been attending classes and purchasing products for 10 years. And like most of us I have a LOT of stamps and dies!!! And like many of us I tend to forget these older stamping supplies as soon as all the new, shiny and pretty product arrives. So I am setting myself a mission……and that is to incorporate older supplies with new product to make a card each week. It is my intention to do this on a Monday (let’s see how long that lasts…) and I also intend incorporating some of my really old retired supplies as well, because we all have them and they need a little love too!!!

For my first card, in what I hope will be a series, I used quite a few new supplies and the Hometown Greetings Edgelits. These can still be found in the current Annual Catalogue on page 218, but were first featured in the 2017 Holiday Catalogue. The edgelits team beautifully with the Winter Woods bundle to create a lovely traditional holiday scene. It is not evident in the photo but I did spray the houses with Champagne Shimmer Mist in a solution of rubbing alcohol. It adds such a lovely touch. I matted the whole scene on a piece of designed series paper from the Under the Mistletoe collection and then attached this to a standard sized card base of Real Red. I used a small greeting from the Peaceful Noel stamp set, two labels from the Stitched Labels framelits and various bit and pieces of greenery. I stamped and die cut the pine cones and pine needles from the Winter Woods bundle and attached these with dimensionals. I must admit it was a bit of a labour of love but I was very happy with the result. Do you have a special person who would love to receive a special card for Christmas? I know I do……and I know just how much my efforts will be appreciated by that special person!!!

What older supplies do you have ‘hidden’ away in your craft room or storage boxes that you would really like to use? Hopefully I can help you to LOVE them all over again!!!
