I am a recent convert to colouring a stamped image using Stampin’ Blends. I am by no means an expertise but I am enjoying learning and practising and have found that……LESS is definitely MORE!!! A light hand certainly seems to be a preferable method of colouring, especially when colouring images such as the large blossom from the Forever Blossoms bundle. The line art in this set is so lovely that it can stand alone. In an earlier card, which can be found here, I simply stamped and diecut the image before adhering it to my card. No colouring was necessary.
My cards:
My cards today feature the same design just in different colourways. I sponged the stitched rectangle with Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight respectively, before adhering the stamped, coloured and diecut branch of blossom.
To the card base a glued a piece of DSP from the Peaceful Poppies DSP pack. I really love this watercolour strip and think it sets off the blossom panel perfectly. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Forever Blossoms stamp set onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with one of my favourite dies. The sentiment strip was then adhered to the card and a single blossom attached. Each flower was then adorned with a jewel. I absolutely love the finish I get when I diecut a sentiment using this long thin die. I have used it on a number of cards. You can see other examples of how I have used it here and here.
The Peaceful Poppies DSP is glorious. The A-sides feature beautiful bright floral designs and the B-sides have a more watercolored feel about them. I particularly love the green and blue stripe and the purple polka dot. They work so well as layering pieces.
