Week 18: Gorgeous Grape
Gorgeous Grape is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Brights collection…….and is a bright, medium purple. There are several Gorgeous Grape products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Tricolor Ribbon and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Brights Assortment.
Gorgeous Grape also features in the Gorgeous Posies Project Kit, which can be found on page 8 of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. This ‘gorgeous’ kit makes 16 cards when teamed with the Gorgeous Posies stamp set which, can also be found on page 8. Kits make the perfect gift for that crafty friend or are a wonderful way to dip your toe into the world of card making, as all the hard work has been done for you. Of course, you can buy it simply because it is stunning and you really need it in your stash of crafty goodness!!! 🙂
The Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper also features Gorgeous Grape. This bright and cheery paper pack features ‘sweeping brushstrokes and beautifully blended colour gradients’ and is perfect for any occasion.
my card:
When creating my Gorgeous Grape card I used the ‘fabulous’ All Things Fabulous bundle. This bundle was one of my first picks from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. It is perfect for Stamping in the Round (wreath) cards, could be used for a variety of occasions (eg weddings, sympathy, birthdays, friendship), is a Two-Step stamp which makes colour layering so easy and has a set of matching dies. Who could ask for anything more?
I started by diecutting a piece of masking paper using the lacey die from the bundle. I then used it to mask my piece of Whisper White as I sponged on some Soft Sea Foam before embossing the panel with the Subtle embossing folder. The flowers were stamped and die cut using Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and second generation Highland Heather. The leaves were stamped in Soft Sea Foam before also being diecut. The lovely sentiment is from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set and it was stamped onto a diecut scrap of Whisper White I had lying around on my craft table. The finished panel was matted with a piece of Highland Heather before being adhered to a Gorgeous Grape card base.
Purple of any shade is a favourite of mine. Not only do I like the colour, it was the colour of choice of my very dear aunt. She wore it often and loved to decorate with it as well. She was tiny but held a zest for life and packed a punch in terms of attitude and determination, and while she was not able to have children herself she loved her 4 nieces and nephew with an absolute passion. She certainly was all things fabulous and I definitely thought of her as I was making this card.

This is just gorgeous Michele, so soft and lovely with a really nice colour combination. I am glad I recently got this bundle. And I love that you chose a similar design feature to me – the greeting tag coming down from the top of the card. I don’t use that format often enough.

Wow, a gorgeous card Michele. So love your flowers. The 3 step stamping is beautiful with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape and together with Soft Sea Foam. Your use of masking paper to cut the lacy die and then use it as a stencil is so lovely. Delightful xxx
