AWHT Creative Colour Creations – Night of Navy

Welcome to the Colour Creations Showcase……the 2020-2021 version. This weekly showcase is brought to you by the Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team, Australia.

Week 30: Night of Navy

Night of Navy is one of the colours in the Stampin’ Up! Neutrals collection…….and is a dark inky blue. There are several Night of Navy products available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. These include Classic Stampin’ Pad, A4 Cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends and the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Neutrals Assortment.

Night of Navy also features in a number of Designer Series Papers in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue – Artistry Blooms, In Good Taste and Playing With Patterns.

The Simply Citrus All-Inclusive Card Kit and the Boho Indigo Product Medley also feature Night of Navy.

BUT……my cards today feature designer series paper from the NEW January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue……

This DSP is part of the Well Suited suite collection that includes a stamp set, coordinating dies and twine. It can be found on pages 66 and 67 of the new mini catalogue.

Card no.: 1

My first card highlights the small floral DSP found in the collection. My father and husband wore a suit to work everyday and a number of the patterns in this collection remind me of suits and ties that were part of their work attire. This one in particular is very similar to a tie that my husband wore quite often.

However, I wanted to demonstrate that the paper could also be used to create a more feminine card as well. The sentiment is from A Grand Kid and its playful message and font help to give the card a younger feel.

Card no.: 2

My second card showcases more of the gorgeous designer series paper. I am a big fan of the Sailing Home stamp set and coordinating Smooth Sailing dies and was very happy to see them carry over into the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. However, I had struggled to find DSP to match since the original had retired……until now! A couple of the papers in the Well Suited collection can certainly be interpreted as ‘nautical’ in nature and I used one here.

Oh and did I tell you that my most used and most purchased item also includes Night of Navy? 🙂

Of course……one of my cards had to have some Night of Navy rhinestones. 😉

introducing sale-a-bration:

Sale-A-Bration is back!!! YAY!!!

In 2021 Sale-A-Bration is a little different. Instead of one single Sale-A-Bration, the annual Sale-A-Bration event has been split in two! The first Sale-A-Bration event will take place from January to February, with the second beginning in July and ending in August.

For each event, only one Sale-A-Bration brochure will be released. Rather than feature multiple product releases in a short span of time, Sale-A-Bration products (and the brochures that tell you all about them) will now be released twice a year – once in January, and once in July. During each Sale-A-Bration event, the product offering will not change throughout the duration of the promotion. Click on the image above to download a copy of the brochure now!!!

These are terrific changes, but it means that you will need to be quick so that you don’t miss out on earning yourself FREE items.

One of the gorgeous paper collections available with a $90 spend is the Paper Blooms designer series paper. It has a lovely colour palette which includes Night of Navy and sweet floral images. Best of all, it coordinates beautifully with the In Bloom bundle on page 45 of the JJ Mini.

Thanks for visiting but, there is so much more to see. Please hop back to Catherine’s blog where you will find links to all the other team members and their gorgeous creations.

If you would like to purchase any of the products that I used when creating this card, the links are included below. If you would like a copy of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue and/or Sale-A-Bration Brochure , please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Thanks Michele.

Two great cards Michele, that show the versatility of this DSP. I love the white sentiment panel that breaks up the sweet, busy floral pattern on your first card and I’m pleased to see how well the DSP works with your nautical themed card.

  2. Kate Morgan

Great cards, Michele, but I love your smooth sailing one. A fabulous layout too. I think that floral paper on your first card, really does remind me of a tie a well. Must have been a popular one 😉

  3. Ros Davidson

Excellent cards, the second one has to be my favourite. How versatile is the well suited DSP going to be!

  4. Diane Furniss

Great match up of old and new Michele! And I love that greeting from the Grandkid set.

  6. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Great cards, Michele! I love the playful look that the little punched flowers, and the sentiment, provide on your first card. You’re right – that paper is perfect for a Sailing Home card … I hadn’t thought of that, but now feel inspired. Beautiful Night of Navy creations.

  7. Tina Gillespie

Your cards are fabulous! I certainly remember the floral ties, and I completely agree about the section DSP suiting the nautical card perfectly.

  8. Catherine Proctor

Michelle your cards are simply gorgeous – I really can’t pick a favourite! Both those paper designs are personal favourites of mine and embossing of them makes them look even more amazing. Thank you for sharing your Night of Navy inspiration with us all.
