Heart of Christmas | Sweetest Christmas

Welcome to the 2022 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will again be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

my cards:

I love candy canes! I don’t eat them……ever but, I love that they evoke Christmas and I love to use them in my Christmas decor. So when I saw the Sweetest Christmas mega suite……I HAD to have it all.

My cards today use the beautiful designer series paper and the Sweet Candy Canes bundle.

I love it when the dies cut out images from the designer series paper. Did you notice the label die? It is so cool as it enables you to thread the ribbon through it.

Cards 1 & 2:

Both cards feature the same design, just different designer series paper.

Card one uses the very traditional Christmas colours of Garden Green and Real Red. If you haven’t noticed the very cute Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins in the mini catalogue yet, you need to check out page 83. They are so easy to use and I will be ordering another pack very soon.

The Garden Green panel was embossed using one of the folders from the Wintry 3D embossing folders set.

For card number 2 I picked out the lines of Pool Party in the DSP and the candy canes and used it for my embossed panel. I changed out the gold sequins for silver. The ribbon used on both cards is from the Sweetest Christmas suite and comes as a twin pack.

The little sprigs of foliage come from the other die set in the suite and they work back so well with the pine needles of the embossing folder. In this photo you can see how the ribbon threads through the label. I think it was actually made so that you could thread a greeting onto a candy cane, however, I just love this for ribbon as I have lots and lots of ribbon but, never really quite know what to do with it or how best to use it.

I finally get to leave a comment on your beautiful cards Michele! Two great colour combo’s. The softer colours on card 2 are my favourite, but I love the richness of the traditional colours on card 1. The embossed slimline panel on each card is so effective and I love the addition of the vellum that adds a little softness to the overall look. The ribbon and sentiment tag are a sweet feature too.

  2. Kate Morgan

These are both fantastic cards, Michele. I too love candy canes at Christmas time, but like you, not to eat them! They are a real treat for the kids! I love the embossed panel creating a lovely texture.

  3. Theresa Gerrard

A couple of beautiful cards Michele. My favourite is the more traditional coloured one. I actually hadn’t thought about threading ribbon through the holes on the sentiment die.

  4. Catherine Proctor

On my goodness both these cards are stunning Michele! I love the way that die let’s you thread the ribbon through!

  5. Andrea Sargent

Two gorgeous cards Michele. Love your embossed panels behind the candy canes and the way you have threaded ribbon through the label holes. Xxx

  6. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Oh, these are beautiful, Michele! I hadn’t noticed how gorgeous those striped papers are, but your cards showcase them to perfection. I love both your cards, but the Pool Party one is a stand-out for me.

  7. Rachel Woollard

Beautiful cards Michele, great layout and I love both colour combinations. The texture on the centre panel is really effective

  8. Tina Gillespie

Your cards are delightful! The candy canes look fantastic. I love the colour combos of your cards.
