Heart of Christmas | Christmas Banners

Welcome to the 2022 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will again be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

my cards:

I absolutely love the Christmas Banners bundle. I particularly appreciate the greeting options and how you can build a unique banner using multiple colours and your choice of sentiment. The bundle also includes some very usable and cute Christmas greenery stamps and dies that seem to making an appearance on a large number of my festive cards so far this year.

Card no.1:

My first card features a piece of DSP from the Celebrate Everything Host mega pack of paper. I had originally overlooked this paper but once I saw it being used on some absolutely gorgeous cards, it jumped into my cart!!! 🙂

Using the black and white tree paper I masked off a section before using Sweet Sorbet, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and my blending brushes to apply the colour.

I used a circle of vellum behind the tree to help it stand out from the background. The greeting was stamped using black ink and Sweet Sorbet and those wonderful adhesive backed sequins were the finishing touch.

The tree was diecut using a die from the Happy Forest set. I diecut it three times – once from each of Sweet Sorbet, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green cardstock. I then layered them up to create dimension and a little bit of added colour and interest.

card no.2:

The focal panel for my second card was created using Sweet Sorbet, Real Red and Polished Pink ink and the small candy cane stamp from Jingle Jingle Jingle.

I used another banner and a different greeting for my sentiment, behind which I tucked some of those gorgeous small pine needles diecuts.

The lovely festive DSP is again from the Celebrate Everything mega pack and of course I just had to add a few more adhesive backed sequins. (Which reminds me, I need to order some more!!!)

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Caroline Manwaring. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by this week. I hope to see you back here next Monday, when the team will have more of their inspiration and wonderful creations to share with you.

In the meantime if you would like a copy of either the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue and/or the July – December 2022 Mini Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Michele.

You are doing it to me too, Michele, with these gorgeous papers. They are just adorable and I love how you used the B&W sheet with the multicoloured masked panel. Then the next card is sweet with all the little candy canes. Polished Pink is beautiful for Christmas, love it!

  2. Sharon Davern

I really like both of these cards Michele and I have just gotten the Christmas Banners set so I am looking forward to having a play with those. I love how you have masked and blended the section in the first card that looks fantastic. The second card is bright and happy I love it too! Love how the colours really work together that Sweet Sorbet is a lovely colour to go with the reds we have I have found! Great Cards!

  3. Caroline Louise Manwaring

Michele, I have recently received the Celebrate Everything DSP pack too and I love how you have used the b&w tree pattern on card 1. The blended colour panel looks gorgeous, and then the tree cut out in the same three card stock colours looks so amazing with just a hint of each colour showing from underneath. Card 2 is so pretty and I love the colour combination of red and pink together.

  4. Andrea Sargent

Two gorgeous Christmas cards Michele. I love your blended section on the tree DSP and your layering of the blended colours for your die cut tree is inspired. Your second card is wonderful with your mini candy cane stamping and perfect behind your sentiment banner. Xxx

  5. Catherine Proctor

Both these cards are gorgeous, Michele. I love this DSP too and the way you’ve used it on your cards. The mini candy canes stamped in Sweet Sorbet, Real Red and Polished Pink make for a wonderful handmade DSP background.

  6. Kathryn Ruddick

Michele, these are great! I am loving seeing what people are doing with this great DSP – and I adore how you have added the strip of colour to your first card! I also love how you have done the die-cut tree with the three colours – that is brilliant!!

  7. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Both of your cards are delightful, Michele. On the first card, I love how you added colour to the black and white DSP. Stacking die-cut trees in those colours was a fun touch (it’s all about the co-ordination, isn’t it?!). The combination of pinks and red on your second card is (a little surprisingly) delightful. It works so well, for your candy cane theme. Beautiful work.

  8. Tina Gillespie

Oooh, another pair of fabulous cards. I really love the inked section over the tree DSP – it looks fantastic!
