Heart of Christmas | Rings of Love

Welcome to the 2022 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will again be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

my cards:

Well I thought it was about time that I brought back an oldie but a goodie, favourite technique of mine or a should say techniques. One of my cards uses the Stamping In The Round technique and the other Stamp and Rotate.

When creating my cards I used the absolutely fabulous Ringed With Nature bundle. This is probably my favourite bundle in the whole mini catalogue. I will be showcasing it again in a later HOC blog hop. Stay tuned.

Card number 1 uses the Stamp and Rotate method. After stamping each poinsettia in Petal Pink I then inked the stamp again using Real Red ink and a sponge dauber. The effect is a lovely two-toned image very similar to that in the gorgeous Rings of Love designer series paper.

A matt of Evening Evergreen, a linen bow, self adhesive sequins and a simple greeting and the card was complete.

My second card uses the SITR technique. Have I ever told your that I love my Stamparatus? It makes so many of the techniques I love to use, so very, very easy.

After stamping my greeting I matted it with Real Red and popped it up on dimensionals before adding some more adhesive backed sequins to finish the card.

Oh yes please! The Queen of SITR has made a much anticipated return, and has not disappointed! Love, love, love these two gorgeous cards Michele! Those two-toned poinsettias are so beautiful and I love the linen thread bow and little sentiment on card 1. A perfect example of SITR technique on card 2 and a simply elegant look. She’s back!

  2. Kate Morgan

Oh Michele, these are gorgeous. That two tone image is super clever and looks amazing. The bright DSP is a great choice for your backgrounds. I adore these techniques, and you surely create them better than anyone I know!

  3. Theresa Gerrard

So lovely to see your return to the stamping in the round cards as you do them so well. I especially love the poinsettias in the first card and how you have stamped them. The sentiment on the second card could also allow it to be used for a birthday.

  4. Sharon Davern

Well these are just fantastic cards Michele, love them both! Great use of all the stamps to make both the cards and the colour combo is great too!

  5. Kathryn

Wow Michele! Love that 1st technique using the sponge dauber to add a darker colour for the 2nd press with the Stamp-a-ratus. Best tool ever!!
These are beautiful bring Christmas cards, and your stamp-a-ra-tus skills have really shown off the stamp set well!

  6. Rosa Leyden

Very pretty cards Michele. I particularly love your first card with the inking of two colours on your flowers and clever of you to replicate the effect found in the DSP. Love the sequins!

  7. Andrea Sargent

Beautiful, beautiful cards Michele. You are certainly the Queen of these techniques. I love your double stamping of the poinsettia – its gorgeous. Xxx

  8. Rachel Woollard

Lovely cards Michele, I love the two coloured stamping you’ve done on the flowers on the first card. I also really love the positioning of your sequins on both cards, they look beautifully natural and random, something I have trouble with

  9. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Beautiful cards, Michele. I especially love the way you inked the poinsettias on your first card, to complement those on the DSP . The sequins are the perfect tone. Your SITR cards are gorgeous, and tonight’s is no exception. Love that scalloped Real Red layer behind the sentiment, drawing the eye towards the lovely flowers on the outer edge of your design.

  10. Catherine Proctor

Michele, I love your Stamping In The Round technique and Stamp and Rotate technique and I’m so glad you revisited these techniques for your gorgeous cards tonight.

  11. Tina Gillespie

Two absolutely wonderful Christmas cards! The two-tone poinsettias look amazing, and the flowers on the second card are so sweet.
