Heart of Christmas – Week 9 2023

Welcome to the 2023 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Each Monday, through until mid December, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have to offer. This year we will be working with Christmas products found in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, those on offer as an Online Exclusive and new products from the Sept-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue.

my card:

My card this week again features the Stampin’ Up! Making A Difference campaign, A Walk In The Forest designer series paper.

I used one of the coordinating dies from the Merriest Trees bundle to diecut my simple single tree from Garden Green cardstock. To give it a more realistic effect I embossed it using the Twisted Rope 3D embossing folder before ‘swiping’ it with my Garden Green ink pad. I also used a sponge dauber to apply additional layers of ink to the ends of the tree.

You can see the texture and dimension in more detail below. I adore this paper and really wanted to showcase it. The greeting is from the Trucking Along bundle.

In previous posts I have extolled the virtue of adhesive-backed sequins and stated that they were fast becoming my favourite go-to embellishment. Well, hold the phone……introducing Silver & Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper.

When I purchase a pack of foil cardstock or glimmer paper I always like to add self-adhesive to the back, as I find using liquid glue with these specialty papers problematic. No matter what I do I tend to end up with glue on the front as well as the back.

This glimmer paper is a game changer……no loose glitter and so very easy to diecut and adhere. If you haven’t found this ‘must-have’ product yet, make your way to the Online Exclusives section of the website. The gold glimmer paper was used to diecut the garlands and the star for my Christmas tree using dies from the Merriest Trees bundle.

I did add three retired red rhinestones to the background. I may or may not have packets and packets of these little beauties in my stash. If you don’t, you could always colour basic rhinestones red using a dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend or use some of the Festive Pearls.

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Tina Gillespie. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head back to the blog of Sharon Davern who is the host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope you are inspired to start your Christmas card making and I that you will visit again next Monday for more Christmas ideas and fun.

In the meantime, if you would like a copy of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue and/or the September-December 2023 Mini Catalogue, please contact me and I will pop them in the post for you.

Michele.

Another gorgeous Christmas card Michele. I adore your Christmas tree. It looks amazing with the Twisted Rope embossing. Like you I have many packets of Red Rhinestones. They are great for decorating Christmas trees. xxx

  6. Tina Gillespie

Wow, what a great idea to emboss the Christmas tree, and the folder you’ve used was the perfect choice! The gold star and garland finish off the tree wonderfully.

  7. Rachel Woollard

I love your textured Christmas tree Michele!

  8. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Michele, that was a genius move, to use the Twisted Rope embossing folder on your Christmas tree! Stealing that idea, for sure! I also love the addition of bling to the tops of some of the little background trees. Thanks for the prompt to use Adhesive Sheet on the back of foil sheets … I wrangle with glue every time, and hadn’t even thought of the (apparently) obvious solution! Love your card.
