Heart of Christmas | Pop-Up Christmas Tree

Welcome to the 2021 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

This week I am again using products from the Whimsy & Wonder suite. I actually have very little of this designer series paper left and am trying to justify, to myself, the purchase of another pack. I always find it funny when the suite that doesn’t overly appeal to you in the catalogue becomes your absolute favourite once you start working with it.

To be honest I was a little intimidated by the bold designs of some of the papers. Luckily, the B-Sides of those designs proved to be gorgeous and very useable. The only paper of which I have more that a few small scrap left, is the pink snowflake and bold stripe.

my card:

My card is quite plain on the outside. The feature is this beautiful ‘presents’ paper and a greeting from Christmas to Remember – seriously the best Christmas sentiment set ever!!! The very cute holly leaves come from the Stockings set of dies. As I have run out of In Color gems I coloured my own using the dark Polished Pink Stampin’ Blend.

The inside of the card is a little more jazzy, with a different sort of pop-up Christmas Eve scene. Both the tree and presents around the base of the tree pop-up.

I have had this card and a couple of others in my mind for months and bought the Welcoming Windows bundle especially for it. This piece of Sahara Sand DSP is perfect as the wallpaper and the Misty Moonlight Whimsy & Wonder DSP is just right for the night sky. I have actually used it in this way on quite a few cards, including the one showcased in last week’s Heart of Christmas blog hop. You can see that one here.

This pop-up mechanism is really very easy. Here I simply made two of differing sizes so that I could layer them.

As most of the people I purchase presents for at Christmas time are adults, I decided to do something a bit different. This year they will all receive a ‘special’ card, some home made goodies and money, as they all prefer to shop online anyway. Instead of trudging around the shops buying things that they may need to return or exchange, I will spend the time creating something handmade and I know just the person who is going to be the recipient of this card.

Art With Heart Team | Heart of Christmas blog hop:

It’s now time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely and talented Kate Morgan. I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of Tina Gillespie who is this week’s host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. There you will find the list of all who are participating this week.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by this week. I hope to see you back here next Monday, when the team will have more of their inspiration and wonderful creations to share with you.

In the meantime if you would like a copy of either the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue or the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue please contact me and I will pop one in the post for you.

Michele.

Beautiful card. I love the outside just as much as the inside, although I am in awe of the work that has gone into the card. I love your philosophy of Christmas gift giving. It’s going to be very similar for me this year. I really enjoy the ‘making’ part of Christmas. Not so much the shopping! The recipient of this beautiful card will be very lucky.

  6. Kate Morgan

Oh my, I was going to say this card is anything but plain on the outside, but holy cow, the inside is incredible!!! I now see why you needed that window die, as you have certainly put it to great use! Stunning card, Michele.

  7. CHRISTINE BLAIN

Outstanding card, Michele! You have created another gorgeous Christmas scene … and I agree, those papers are perfect for the wall, and behind the window. These beautiful cards will be gifts in themselves, for the lucky recipients. Just beautiful. x
