Heart of Christmas | Evergreen Elegance

Welcome to the 2021 edition of Heart of Christmas brought to you by the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. This year, we will be showcasing all the fabulous seasonal supplies that Stampin’ Up! have on offer, on a weekly basis and in the form of a Blog Hop.

my card:

The Evergreen Elegance stamp set is a recent purchase. I didn’t really have a ‘traditional’ Chrissy tree in my collection. Truth be told I bought it for the garland stamp and the lovely greeting – May the beauty of the season bring you joy and warm memories to cherish throughout the year. I think this is a perfect greeting to use on the inside of a Christmas card and will be using it on many of mine.

For my card I stamped straight onto a piece of designer series after masking off the bottom with a piece of post it tape. I used both Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent inks to achieve the two-tone effect. After removing the post it tape I stamped the greeting in the space at the bottom.

When I purchased this stamp set I did something that I never do – I didn’t purchase it as a bundle!!! 🙁 I broke my golden rule. I am seeing so many lovely cards made with the border punch that goes with this stamp set, that of course, I have now decided that I ‘need’ it too. Argh!!! A cautionary tale.

A strip of Be Dazzling specialty paper and some stars were added before I painted the boughs of my trees with Wink of Stella. It is hard to see in the photo but it really does add some lovely shine to the front of my card.

The piece of designer series paper I used is from the glorious Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ paper pack. I actually only have a few pieces left and am very tempted to buy a second pack.

This is a really lovely card Michele. I love the stamping directly onto the dsp and the pops of red are very Christmassy. I can see you making multiples of this design – it’s a very pretty card.

  2. Tina Gillespie

Your card is so pretty! I love the soft colours not eh DSP with the trees. My brain wants to sing “all is calm, all is bright”. I really love this card.

  3. Sharon Davern

Such a gorgeous card Michele, I love the stamping on the DSP it looks fabulous! The Bedazzled strip is great too!

  4. Theresa Gerrard

Such a lovely card Michele. You have reminded me that I still need to ink mine up! Stamping onto the DSP looks fabulous. Just lovely

  5. Rosa Leyden

Such a gorgeous card Michele and especially love the Be Dazzled layer and stars and the touches of red on your card. The stamped trees in alternate greens are fabulous.

  6. Kate Morgan

So pretty, Michele. Stamping directly onto the DSP is such a simple idea and super effective. At first glance, I thought you had added another layer at the bottom, but masking that off to stamp the trees and just adding the Be Dazzling strip, tricks the eye. Beautiful.

  7. Catherine Proctor

What a beautiful card, Michele. The die cut stars perfectly mirror he stars on the DSP. I too am having “bundle regret” this week so I feel your pain!

  8. Ros Davidson

I love the alternating colours of the Chirstmas trees. The bling of the be dazzling speciality paper is a great finishing touch.

  9. Rachel Woollard

Great idea to stamp the trees straight onto the DSP, it looks terrific

  10. CHRISTINE BLAIN

The perfect choice of DSP to stamp those beautiful trees onto, Michele. I love the two greens you’ve used (as evidenced by my excessive use of same, on lots of my Christmas cards this year!), and the sparkle and shimmer you have added. The pops of red are a beautiful, elegant, complement to your lovely design. I had to laugh at your realisation that perhaps you should’ve bought these products in a bundle after all … I have done this more times than I care to admit! I love your gorgeous card.
