A ‘Fly’-ing Wreath with Best Catch

I recently purchased the Best Catch stamp set and am now enjoying designing and making cards using it. If you have read any of my previous blog post you will know that I love square cards and wreath designs in particular. So, it was only natural that I would experiment with how I might use the images for just that. The fishing fly image proved perfect and I am very happy with the result. This is the second card I have made with a fishing theme using the Best Catch stamp set. Card one can be seen here and in the photo above. It is a card that I designed and made for the Global Design Project – Sketch Challenge #GDP214. It received a Special Mention.

Using my Stamparatus I stamped the wreath design using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  A keen colourer, I am not, but with one of my husband’s fishing flies as inspiration I coloured in each of the flies using Stampin’ Blends. I then mounted the panel on a piece of designer series paper before matting it with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock which, I had embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. To finish the card I added a sentiment and attached the completed panel to a square Crumb Cake card.

Do you love embossing folders as much as I do? They just add so much to any design. In fact I believe they can turn any card from ‘blah’ to brilliant. I often sit in front of a card and don’t actually feel like it is ‘finished.’ I’ll then add some texture with an embossing folder and viola!!! Much Better!!!

If you have any questions or would like further details as to how I made this card please do not hesitate to contact me. If you would like a copy of either the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue and/or the 2019 Holiday Catalogue please let me know and I will pop one in the post for you.

My online store is always open. Below I have included links for each of the products used when creating this card.

Thanks Michele.
