Welcome to the Art With Heart Team, Colour Creations Blog Hop, for 2021-2022. Each week members of the team will showcase a current colour (in alphabetical order) from the extensive Stampin’ Up! range.
Week 9: Calypso Coral
You will find a number of products in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue that feature Calypso Coral including – Classic Stampin’ Pad, cardstock, ink refill, Stampin’ Blends, Subtles Designer Series Paper pack, Subtles Stampin’ Write Markers, Watercolour Pencils and the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
But my favourite products to feature the colour Calypso Coral are……
I love Designer Series Paper and have enough to paper the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but who can resist such gorgeous patterns and colour palettes. I used one of my favourite papers (a B-Side gingham from Pansy Petals) on my card today.
My card:
When I sat down at my craft table to create my card for this week’s blog……I didn’t have a clue as to what I wanted to make. Lying discarded to the side of my craft mat were the two pieces of DSP you see on the card, the black diecuts and the greeting. I started shuffling the pieces around and voila, an idea was born and a card created.
I stamped the matt of Calypso Coral with the text stamp from the Quiet Meadow bundle before embossing it with the Tasteful Textile EF. I inked the edges and adhered it to a card base of Calypso Coral, before layering on my bits and pieces.
The final touch was the floral image from the Hand-Penned Petals bundle. I love Two-Step stamping and this one where the infill is more artistic than exact is gorgeous. After stamping the outline in Mememto, I inked up the infill with Pale Papaya and then dabbed it with Calypso Coral using a sponge dauber. This gives a lovely mottled, two-tone effect. I did the same for the smaller flower. The leaves were stamped using Pear Pizzazz and a few sequins from the Artistry Blooms set were the finishing touch.
The sentiments is also from the Hand-Penned Petals bundle.

The two tone flower adds a lot more depth and looks fabulous.
Very creative taking a bit of this and some more of that and coming up with such a pretty card.
A lovely card, Michele. I love how the Basic Black card stock gives Calypso Coral such depth of colour.
Oh if only all of our cards came together by shuffling all our unused bibs and bobs lol! Great outcome
Great way to use up those pieces from your desk. Your card has come together beautifully and the black adds a lovely dramatic touch. I totally agree with your comments on the Aussies winning so many medals on/in the water at the Olympics!
I love the pale papaya and calypso coral combo. The contrast of the black really lifts this card!
Oooh, your card is gorgeous! The floral layer is so pretty, and I love the drama of the black die cut underneath.
Michelle, your two step stamping with the addition of the Calypso Coral using a sponge dauber looks amazing – when i first saw your lovely card I thought you must have hand coloured this flower!
Love those creative moments where leftover pieces from previous projects come together which you have done beautifully Michele. Those sequins are special.
What a beautiful card you have made, using those “bits”, Michele! The stamped and embossed background panel looks so rich and luxurious, and I love the two-toned inking of the flowers. Nice job. 🙂
Lovely card Michele, the pop of black looks terrific
